Joe Rogan Says Alcohol Reduces UFC Fighters’ Careers

Joe Rogan had the welterweight contender Belal Muhammad at his podcast, the Joe Rogan Experience and they spoke about many things connected to MMA and to the UFC.

One of the more interesting topics on which both UFC personalities spoke is the abstinence from alcohol, and the effect it might have on fighters’ life. Joe Rogan immediately praised Belal Muhammad for his decision to abstain from alcohol. He told how he believes that alcohol, even in small doses could affect a fighter’s performance in the octagon.

Joe Rogan Says Alcohol Reduces Fighter’s Careers

Joe Rogan is someone that doesn’t back up from consuming alcohol, or even drugs. However, he is very aware of the negative effects it might have on him if he was to professionally compete. The podcaster admits that alcohol could be extremely fun at times, but looking at it in the long term, the benefits are far lesser than the drawbacks.

“By not drinking, you’re probably adding time to your career. Drinking’s fun, there’s a reason why people like to do it, and there’s a reason why bars are everywhere. But, the reality is it’s f***ing terrible for you. And if you’re a professional athlete, and you’re in this world of professional athleticism – in the hardest sport in the world – if you can maximize your recovery and vitality by not drinking alcohol, I would tell people to do it.” – Joe Rogan told to Belal Muhammad.

Joe Rogan is someone that cares for his health. Even though he consumes some substances, he claims he has control over it. Back in 2010, Joe Rogan founded a fitness equipment and supplements company, Onnit. In addition to this, he regularly features doctors and health experts on his podcast. He knows how to get into conversation with them and even asks about some particular ‘rituals’ he thinks are of help.  Rhonda Patrick, Ben Greenfield, and Max Lugavere are just some of the health experts that have been on the podcast.

Joe Rogan’s most recent advice for sportsmen is to take advantage of a cold plunge. He tells how he regularly practices it as it helps him to recover much better from the daily workouts.

“My body feels so good. My soreness that was generally just an ordinary part of my everyday life, a massive amount of that has disappeared. Sauna and cold plunge routine that I do, it has made a giant difference. It just makes me feel great. It makes a giant difference in your physical and maybe just as important or more important, your mental well-being.” – Joe Rogan recently said. “My mind feels so much better after a hard workout and after a good sauna session. And a good ice bath session to end it.”
