On January 18, 2023, police in Hollywood, Florida arrested a man who allegedly beat his co-worker to death with a sledgehammer. Officers with the Hollywood PD arrived at Wärtsilä, a marine and energy manufacturing company, according to WTVJ.
At the scene, officers found the victim in a pool of his own blood. Considering the state that the victim—Ferdinand Williams—was in, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Florida Man Charged with Second-Degree Murder After He Allegedly Beat Co-Worker to Death with Sledgehammer Before Work
After speaking with co-workers—one of whom saw the suspect enter Wärtsilä with the sledgehammer—the Broward County deputies arrived at the apartment of Bryan Menocal (31) and spoke with him about the murder. Menocal confessed to killing Williams and was taken into custody.
According to Menocal, he and Williams had an argument earlier that morning. The nature of the argument wasn’t detailed nor was it shared if Menocal and Williams had disagreements leading up to January 18.
Bryan Menocal was charged with second-degree murder and his currently housed at the Broward County Jail without bond.
