WWE Friday Night SmackDown continues after that airing of the WrestleMania John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt match. It was the logical thing to do but kinda funny timing, with the Exalted One at ringside for the whole thing. Then, out comes the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions John Morrison and the Miz out here for a non-title match against Heavy Machinery. But first, we have a backstage interview with Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross, asked about the Kabuki Warriors. Nikki grabs the mic and starts yelling, furious at their sneak attack. Alexa calms her down and takes the title as well, says if you want to play that game, that’s fine because she can play it much better. Suggests that next week Asuka come through the front door and face her in the ring.

Then there’s another segment of the Dirt Sheet.

Morrison claims to have taught himself how to whip and nae nae. Miz says something seems to be missing tonight. Not just the fans… but No. 1 Contender’s for their tag titles! They decide to ask the audience who their challengers should be. We then cut to a few camera shots of Miz & Morrison in pre-tapes, pretending to be fans of New Day, the Usos and Heavy Machinery, taking the time to mock them all. Morrison is dressed as a unicorn on the New Day side, and they come to realize that it’s actually really stupid. They’re dressed as bacon on the Machinery side and get really frustrated about nobody taking them seriously before storming off yelling about their cholesterol being too high for this. For the Usos, well they’re just dressed like the Usos.

Ultimately they reason that even those strangely handsome fans can’t decide who the challengers should be. But Heavy Machinery actually make their way out for their match against the champs.

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions John Morrison & The Miz vs. Heavy Machinery (Non-title)

Otis and Morrison are starting after a commercial break. Otis shoves Morrison away. Kick to the gut no sold with jiggling. Morrison with a forearm gets more of the same. John with a combination of blows but he keeps shaking. A more fierce combination does take him down though, Morrison slides around Otis, comes off the top but Otis evades him, John rolls through on the mat but Otis gets him with a shoulder block! Lifts him up for a vertical suplex, Tucker tags in and Otis passes him to TUCKY ala Proud-N-Powerful, Tucker completes the suplex. Morrison rolls across his back, tags in Miz but he charges right into an arm drag.

Otis tags in, shoulder tackle plows through Miz. Miz sandwiched between Heavy Machinery. Double headbutt to Morrison! Otis clotheslines Morrison to the outside, Tucker with a big senton off the apron through them both! Heels take over back in the ring though, double team elbow drop. Double side slam. Tucker wants the tag… Dolph ZIggler’s music hits and he saunters out, distracting Otis, Miz takes him off the apron, Snap DDT to Tucker for a nearfall. Morrison goes out and superkicks Otis. Ziggler gets on the broadcast table with Cole who was actually all by himself until that point.

After a commercial break, Tucker fights his way up from a Morrison headlock. Morrison with a roundhouse kick for a nearfall. Morrison tags Miz in, double suplex reversed! Hacker glitch as Otis gets the hot tag, runs through the heels, rolling body slam to Miz. Pop-up facebuster. Charging body block to both men who stagger to the mat! Ziggler mocks Otis for doing the caterpillar even though there’s no fans. As he tries it, Ziggler stands up and gets on the mic and says this might be a bad time but he wants to show him some pictures… thinks he deserves to see them. On the screen are some pictures of Ziggler and Mandy Rose out together, Dolph continues to mock him as Otis slowly turns around… he chases him, Ziggler runs but Otis pulls him away from the barrier, has a chair!

But Miz and Morrison pull it away, double team him, take him into the ring but Otis clotheslines Miz and Morrison out of the ring, allowing Ziggler to make his leave! Otis slams Morrison into the steps, batters Miz against the announce table over and over. Morrison leaps off the broadcast table for a crossbody, Otis catches him and twists him right into the ring post! Otis is about to just leave but he spots the picture on the screen again, turns and crossbodies both of them right through the barricade!  Otis grabs a steel chair again. Tucker trying to talk Otis out of getting DQ’d, but he swings the chair anyway and cracks it across the back of the champs.

Winners: John Morrison & The Miz (by DQ)

Otis keeps smacking the chair into their backs until eventually Tucker stops him with a hug and Otis sounds like he’s crying. Ziggler looks on from the stage, spooked.

I’m a hardcore wrestling fan, by which I mean I’m a hardcore fan of wrestling... but I also have nothing against hardcore wrestling! I’ve been watching since 2006, back when I was 12 years old. In that time I’ve fervently followed WWE, TNA, ROH, Lucha Underground and others. Today I’m most passionate about NXT, New Japan and especially AEW! You could call me a modern wrestling savant but I know my old school stuff as well... I’ll be your huckleberry all night long.
