According to royal specialist Sarah Hewson, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have become so controversial that it would be hazardous to be linked to them in public.

Her comments arrived amid claims that Oprah Winfrey may have snubbed the pair for her 69th birthday. The couple were noticeably absent which was a surprise since she was the one they trusted for their controversial first interview since leaving the Royal Family in 2020.
Not only that, but since they appeared at Ellen DeGeneres’ wedding renewal vows, it seems that Oprah may have been distancing herself from the pair in light of Harry’s memoir, Spare.
And to accompany that point, Harry retracted claims that he and Meghan referred to the royals as racist, which was hinted at in the Oprah interview, as per the worries that someone in the firm had issues over Archie’s potential skin colour.
Instead, the Duke of Sussex referred to it as ‘unconscious bias.’ With that being said, Hewson felt Oprah may have felt it was too much of a risk to have the pair there.
In her comments, she said: “Whether this pair is [because they are] seen as too toxic, too negative to be associated with, in the public eye at least.
“Perhaps behind closed doors, celebrities are still waiting to associate themselves with them.” This does hold some weight when we look at the other guests who were in attendance.
Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez were some of the names, as it appears that Oprah chose major A-listers, over the ex-royal couple. The royal fans on social media were not surprised by the comments.
This was on the basis that they felt it would have been risky to have the couple there due to their tendency to speak out publicly. One person wrote: “If they share private talks about their family.
