It seems like after all, Prince Harry did manage to achieve his goal with the Spare memoir. The book is allegedly doing very well. So well actually, that it breaks Guinness World Records.
The publication of the book itself generated so much heat around Prince Harry, that he is one of the most spoken-for people on the planet at the moment. His popularity reached unpredictable heights. In addition to all this, Prince Harry is recently making a lot of money. And to be honest looks like most of the things he and his wife Meghan Markle do ever since moving to the USA have something to do with money.
Prince Harry Memoir ‘Spare’ Sets Guinness Record For Sales
According to the Guinness World Records, Prince Harry’s Spare became the fastest-selling non-fiction book of all time. The book that is supposed to be a tell-all on the ‘truth’ inside Buckingham Palace sold about 1.5 million copies on the first day of its publication.
“Prince Harry’s controversial memoir Spare is the fastest-selling nonfiction book of all time.” – The global media company Forbes wrote on Saturday. “Guinness World Records confirmed Friday, after the royal tell-all sold 1.43 million copies on its first day.”
The US ex-president Barack Obama held the previous record. His book sold over 850 000 copies on the first day. And as you can do the math, Prince Harry’s memoir did almost double the sales of Barack Obama’s memoir.
The publisher of Prince Harry memoir Spare, Penguin Random House announced that the book is already in the second edition of its print. The first edition had 2 million copies of the book, which sold out in about 2 days.
In the campaign for promoting the book, Prince Harry told that he filtered the material he put in the memoir. He told that he has enough material to write one more book. The draft of the memoir included stories that coupled together to make a book that was double the size of Spare.
Aside from other things, Spare has information on Prince Harry’s life in the palace. It describes his life as a youngster, and as a married man. Furthermore, it includes information on his parents, his private life, and information about very private things. For example, he is writing about losing his virginity and killing terrorists in Afghanistan.
The public thinks that Prince Harry included all information in the book, even the dirtiest information on his family. However, Prince Harry claims that this is absolutely untrue. He claims that he left off much information unwritten, ‘out of respect’. He says that if he had written about it all ‘his family would have never forgiven him about it’.
What do you think? Would you buy a copy of ‘Spare’?
