As far as we know at the moment, the plans to go ahead with NXT UK Takeover: Dublin are still in action. The show will take place on April 26th from the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. While things are being taken day by day on a global scale, and this show could be cancelled at any time, one man still wants in on the card. This is the Celtic Warrior, Sheamus. He has the perfect opponent in mind as well, that being NXT’s Finn Balor.
Main Roster Stars Have Commonly Showed Up To NXT UK Takeovers
Ever since Finn Balor showed up to face Jordan Devlin on the first NXT UK Takeover, there main roster stars have been a common presence. We have seen Cesaro show up to face Ilja Dragonauv as well, and things could go full circle should Sheamus get what he wants. A clash between the two biggest male irish stars in WWE today would get the crowd going right out of the gates.
Speaking with Sportskeeda, Sheamus said the following. “I’d love to be involved. I haven’t heard anything,” Sheamus began. ‘WWE hasn’t approached me about it, nobody has asked me about it so I don’t know. I know it’s there, it will be a huge thing. I’d love to go. I’d love a match with Finn, would be great. Walter. Wolfgang. You know what I’m saying? There’s a lot of great talent over there. I’m up for it all but no-one has approached me at all about it.”
There are many great options for someone like Sheamus at this show, and they’d be fools to not take him along should this show happen. A match with Balor would be extra special, as Sheamus and Balor had a live event match in that very arena back in 2015 when Finn was still NXT Champion.
Should Sheamus Have A Proper Run In NXT UK?
While his current goal is to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship, fans are interested in seeing the Celtic Warrior have a run in NXT UK before he hangs his boots up. Both a reunion run of The Bar (Cesaro & Sheamus) or matches with hosses like Kassius Ohno, WALTER, Tyler Bate, Joe Coffey, and more would put eyes on NXT UK.
