Paul Burrell, who happened to be Princess Diana’s butler, has questioned Prince Harry’s comments about Kate Middleton’s ring.
Paul Burrell Exposes Harry’s Narrative About Kate Middleton’s Ring
According to reports, Diana’s ring had been worn by Kate during her wedding with Prince William. It is alleged that after Diana’s death, both brothers got jewellery that belonged to her. William was given a watch, while Harry got a ring.
It was then claimed that the two brothers swapped items when William wanted to marry Kate. And yet, this was disputed by Harry.
In his book, he wrote: “I never gave Willy that ring because it wasn’t mine to give. He already had it. He’d asked for it after Mummy died, and I’d been more than happy to let it go.” However, that has been challenged by Burrell.
He expanded on how he saw the brothers deal with their mother’s items in the aftermath of her death. Not only that, but Burrell stated that William was happy that Harry had chosen the ring in that he did not have an issue with this.
In his comments, Burrell remarked: “So William piped up ‘I’d like the Cartier tank watch’, which Grandpa Spencer gave her for her 21st birthday because I remember mummy wearing that, keeping the time. Harry said, ‘Well, can I have mummy’s engagement ring?
“Because that’s the ring I remember from my childhood.” This naturally begs the question: why did Meghan not get the ring?
Well, that is something that will remain behind the scenes, but it could simply be because Harry had not met her prior to William getting married.
However, there is an argument that Harry could have held on to in anticipation of getting married. Regardless of what the case may be, the issue has now been settled. And that is the most important thing.
