James Middleton, the brother of Kate Middleton, shared his sorrow after his dog, Ella, passed away.

His comments were made in reference to how his family and Ella helped him battle his clinical depression. Ella had passed away at the age of 15 at the beginning of the year, as he lost a major source of comfort in his life.
James then detailed how his sisters, Pippa Middleton and Kate supported him during hard times. In his comments, he said: “I was very lucky that they were willing to be involved and understood that it’s a process, there’s no quick fix to it.
“Ella was there for every, over the last 15 years, huge moments in my life.” But Ella has left behind a legacy that continues to this day.
James was motivated to create a canine food company Ella & Co due after her, and he also enrolled in the Pets as Therapy charity program with her. They worked together in this charity for over four years before she passed away.
The charity’s mission was to make sure that no person was deprived of the joy of having an animal companion, regardless of the situation they may have been in.
The volunteers and their pets went to places like nursing homes, medical centres, hospices, educational facilities, and correctional facilities to bring cheer to the people there.
Everyone, no matter their age, had an opportunity to converse with the volunteers and pet the animals. And to top it all off, Ella helped James find his wife, Alizée Thevenet. He added: “Without me noticing, while I was at a restaurant [Ella] slipped away.
“She was with this very pretty girl…[Alizée] ordered her drinks thinking I was the waiter – I was very taken aback so I went and ordered her drinks for her. And a few years later we’re married.”
