It is expected that the nine-year-old grandson of King Charles III, Prince George, will attend the coronation and witness his grandfather be given the crown.
Prince George’s Role At Charles’ Coronation Explained-‘It Is Certainly Different,’ Says Hugo Vickers
Reports say that Charles is enthusiastic for his eldest grandchild to participate in the event. Rumor has it that Prince William and Kate Middleton, George’s parents, have some definite expectations for his part.
The Sunday Times reported that the Prince and Princess of Wales are planning to meet up with Charles and Queen Consort Camilla to go over what duties George will be taking on.
Although everyone is supposedly eager for him to join, it is said that William and Kate would rather not have the responsibility to put him in a position of extreme examination.
If he does decide to be part of the event, it would be a deviation from the past two occasions when the two heirs did not participate and watched the ceremony from the crowd.
Hugo Vickers, who happens to be a royal expert, had this to say: “Bringing George in also sends all the right symbolism for the future and gives him something he will always remember.
“It is certainly different — this coronation is getting more interesting by the minute.” The Telegraph has stated that in addition to William and Kate, their younger children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, will be attending the event as observers.
And this just goes on to show that the next generation of royals are already being put through their paces. The fans on social media resonated with the concerns that William and Kate may have. After all, there will be a lot of scrutiny on George.
One person wrote: “I can understand the Prince and Princess of Wales being reluctant to have Prince George in a task that will put him under too much pressure. They are absolutely right to do this.”
