As per the Daily Mail, the relationship between Meghan Markle and Sarah Ferguson has been tumultuous ever since they first met in October 2016.
What Does Sarah Ferguson Think Of Meghan?
Reports stress that Prince Harry desired for Fergie to be introduced to his then-girlfriend Meghan first. The couple allegedly had drinks at Prince Andrew’s present home.
According to reports, even though Meghan is believed to have a good relationship with Princess Eugenie, the daughter of Fergie, the latter herself has stated before that she is not very familiar with the Montecito royal.
And yet, in her Oprah Winfrey interview, the Duchess of Sussex stated that she was taught how to curtsey by Fergie.
She shared that during her first meeting with Queen Elizabeth II’s at the Royal Lodge, she was surprised to learn about the tradition of curtseying and what was expected of her, as she had no prior knowledge of it.
In 2018, Fergie was extended an invitation to Harry and Meghan’s wedding, which appeared to be a gesture of reconciliation between her and the firm.
However, Ferguson was extremely disappointed when she was not included in the exclusive evening reception at Frogmore House, as per reports.
And to top it all off, it is claimed that Sarah was very angry when the Sussexes chose to reveal their initial pregnancy on the same day as Princess Eugenie’s wedding.
Reporters Dylan Howard and Andy Tillett confirmed as much: “This was a huge social gaffe, even if you were not a royal – stealing the limelight from Eugenie, who was furious, as was her mother, Sarah.”
And yet, her most comments about the couple suggested that Sarah had no hard feelings, as she admitted that she was not in a position to ‘judge’ them. It is understandable that she would want to remain diplomatic for the following reasons.
First of all, Sarah has had her own share of controversy. She was involved in the toe-sucking scandal with claims that another man was kissing her toes, despite her being married.
Secondly, given that Ferguson had just spent last Christmas with the firm fo the first time in a while, she will not want to rock the boat.
Lastly, in any event, Meghan is friends with Eugenie which would then create further controversy. With that being said, Ferguson had this to say: “I have been judged all my life, and I have no judgment on the Sussexes.”
