For the past few years, one man became synonymous with the National Wrestling Alliance. Nick Aldis would get a 1000+ day reign as NWA World Heavyweight Champion, carrying the company through a relaunch with NWA Powerrr, and even holding things down during the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, having left the company in 2022 – Aldis is now a free agent, and some feel like he could bring a lot to the table in WWE.
Wade Barrett Would Love To See Nick Aldis In WWE
While speaking with Metro.co.UK – former WWE Intercontinental Champion and current WWE Smackdown commentator Wade Barret would say he’s a big supporter of getting Nick Aldis to WWE. When asked if he is a fan – Barrett had the following to say.
“Yeah, 100%. I’m as big a fan of Nick Aldis as anyone. I think, first of all, he’s a fantastic talker, he’s got a great look, he’s a really good representative for this industry in general, and I love his classic throwback in-ring style. It reminds me a bit of Harley Race, kind of the pompous Englishman element adds to it as well. I’d love to see Nick involved.
He’s a guy I’ve got a lot of respect for. I think he’ll have success whatever he ends up doing, whether it’s on the independents, whether it’s going back to NWA, or to any other company – or hopefully one day, come over to WWE. “I think he’s got a lot he can contribute. In terms of supporters, I’m certainly on board as a supporter of Nick Aldis one day coming to WWE.”
With Triple H being a massive fan of the legacy of the National Wrestling Alliance – Aldis has his best chance yet of finding his way into WWE. It’s unlikely that Aldis enters WWE as a main event talent, but his skillset could see him rise through the ranks. He’s someone who can have a solid match against anyone, and is as TV ready as a free agent comes.
