Since defeating Chris Jericho at AEW Winter Is Coming 2022 – Action Andretti became one of the rising stars on the roster of All Elite Wrestling.
He’s kept up with his battles against the Jericho Appreciation Society ever since, facing the likes of Daniel Garcia & Sammy Guevara on AEW Rampage – and helping Ricky Starks defeat Jericho at AEW Revolution. However, fans were worried about him after a nasty fall during the latest tapings for AEW Dark.
Action Andretti
Once again, AEW has taped a block of AEW Dark from Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida – and one match that was set was Slim J vs. Action Andretti.
Andretti would hit his head hard during the match, and the match was stopped. Medical personnel would check Andretti out, and now he has an update on his condition – responding to concerned fans on Twitter.
”To anyone wondering, I did not suffer any injuries yesterday at the dark tapings in Orlando and am 100% healthy! I want to thank the AEW medical team and the rest of the AEW staff for taking the proper safety precautions to ensure that I was ok and no had no serious injuries. 🙏🏽”
Fans Outside The Arena Are Unlikely To See This Match
It’s unlikely this match with Slim J is actually aired on an episode of AEW Dark, even with no injuries sustained. A taped show like Dark means moments like this can be brushed aside, and Andretti & Slim J will likely just look to re-do the match at a later date.
Since the relaunch of Ring of Honor TV on HonorClub – Slim J has mostly moved to ROH, where he first gained attention in the early 2000’s.
Running this match at the next ROH TV tapings would be better than airing one that ended prematurely due to a potential injury.
Andretti is someone fans are hoping to see in ROH going forward, due to his rookie status. While he started his AEW run in a huge way defeating Jericho, he’s far from a complete star yet – and time in ROH could help him develop his skills further.
