Revolution was a tough night for the Jericho Appreciation Society, as they were unable to assist Chris Jericho against Ricky Starks – a match which Jericho lost despite his best efforts. Tonight they look to rebound, as Jericho teams with Daniel Garcia & Sammy Guevara to take on the fast paced trio of AR Fox & Top Flight. With new AEW World Trios Champions in play with House of Black – the division is reset, meaning a trios win tonight sets themself up great for a title shot.
Chris Jericho Leads Jericho Appreciation Society To Victory
Fox would kick things off with Jericho, sending Jericho to the floor and following with a massive dive over the top rope. Guevara would get the tag and was able to match the speed of Jericho with ease. The Jericho Appreciation Society would all pose for the camera, before Top Flight once again picked up the speed.
Dante Martin would try to springboard into the ring, and was punched in the jaw by Daniel Garcia. The JAS would work on isolating Dante in their corner, before Jericho would set up a big superplex. Guevara would work to knock Fox & Darius Martin off the apron, before applying a rear chinlock in the middle of the ring.
Dante would break free and got the tag to Fox, who nailed the Fox Cutter before having Jericho & Garcia attacked. Fox would be able to send Jericho from the ring, before a double Fox Cutter on Garcia & Guevara for a two count. Darius Martin would get the tag, and Garcia would rake the eyes before tagging in Jericho who took the Spanish Fly for a two count.
Fox would hit a pump kick off the apron to the face of Guevara, before the Implosion Senton onto Guevara & Angelo Parker. Darius would roll up Jericho for a two count, before hitting the ropes. Jake Hager got the cheap shot using the bat – before Jericho hit the Judas Effect for the win.
House Of Black Will Take Down Chris Jericho & Kenny Omega In His Hometown
After the match, it was revealed this is the one year anniversary of the JAS – meaning 52 weeks of them as the best Sports Entertainers in the world. They would call for a title shot, and called out House of Black to hit the ring. Instead the music of The Elite would hit – with Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks hitting the ring.
The Elite stayed out of the lane of Jericho for a few years, and Jericho stayed away from them. But if they want to enter the trios division – then that’s The Elite’s lane. Don Callis would come out and say that The Elite are due their rematch, and while Callis is a friend of Jericho – thinking he’s one of the best ever. However, he’s only the second best wrestler from Winnipeg behind Omega.
However, House of Black is ready to take out two teams at once next week – ready to humiliate two legends in their hometown. They’re ready for a Triple Threat title defence, a first for the AEW World Trios Championships. Jericho accepts, and The Elite are eager for their rematch – likely making this official.
After this match, we’d hear from Tony Khan – announcing Orange Cassidy vs. Jeff Jarrett for next week in Winnipeg. However, it’s not for the AEW All-Atlantic Championship. That belt is being renamed to the AEW International Championship as the belt levels up.
Blackpool Combat Club Looks To Take Out Rest Of Dark Order
Jon Moxley took a major loss at AEW Revolution, when he was left bloody and broken by Hangman Page in a Texas Deathmatch. However, he’s used to taking defeats – and a minor setback like this is nothing to a man who has been through as much as Moxley. Tonight, he teams with fellow Blackpool Combat Club member Claudio Castagnoli as they look to put an end to their issues with The Dark Order. Moxley recently choked out Evil Uno, and tonight will have a chance to do the same to John Silver & Alex Reynolds.
Moxley would whip Reynolds through the barricade as Castagnoli choked Silver in the ring with a boot to the jaw. Silver would be beaten down with a series of lariats, before catching Castagnoli with a suplex. Moxley would tag right in and keep Silver away from a tag, before getting Castagnoli back in for a tight rear chinlock.
Silver would break free and hit the flapjack onto the ropes. Reynolds would finally get the tag, attacking Castagnoli with some stiff strikes before a dive to Moxley. Reynolds would be hit with a body slam in the middle of the ring, before being taken into the Kimura Lock. Castagnoli would be sent flying over the top rope, but rushed back into the ring and blocked the tag to Silver.
Hangman Page Makes The Post-Match Save
Reynolds kept fighting and got Silver into the match, who hit a pump kick to the neck of Moxley before a German Suplex got a near fall. Moxley would be locked into a choke and nailed with some elbow smashes, with Castagnoli making the save. Dark Order took Castagnoli out but their finishing combo was blocked with Moxley hitting choking Reynolds out for the victory – keeping it on after the bell.
Evil Uno rushed to the ring to save Reynolds, but was overwhelmed by the BCC. Hangman Page would come to their aid – only to be beaten down three on one. Page thought he was done with Moxley, but Blackpool Combat Club refuses to let this issue rest unfortunately. They went too far with Dark Order, and Page is not going to stand by as his friends get hurt.
