Since Taya Valkyrie arrived in AEW, many have felt Jade Cargill’s time as TBS Champion were numbered. Never before has Cargill found someone that matches her physical power like Valkyrie can, and combined with the decade of experience that Valkyrie has in WWE, Impact Wrestling, AAA and more?
She’s easily the toughest test that Cargill has faced to date. Tonight, they meet in the ring finally – with the TBS Championship, and Cargill’s undefeated streak both on the line.
Jade Cargill Slips Past Taya Valkyrie To Remain TBS Champion
Valkyrie would run down Cargill with a lariat, before just mounting Cargill for some big right hands. Cargill would run into a big boot from Valkyrie, before being sent to the floor with a superkick.
Valkyrie was ready to fly, but instead stopped on the apron – being tripped up and send head first into the floor by Cargill.
Cargill would brawl with Valkyrie on the floor, using the steel steps as an effective weapon before landing a superkick. Back in the ring, Cargill would remain in control hitting a hair whip to send Valkyrie into the mat. Valkyrie would manage a Blue Thunder Bomb, getting a two count.
Cargill would catch Valkyrie on the top rope, taking her down the hard way with a superplex. A Canadian Destroyer would follow from Cargill, only finding a two count.
Jaded would be blocked by Valkyrie, who took Cargill to the mat for a double stomp. Cargill would get a roll up and pull the trunks – getting the victory to remain TBS Champion, and move to 56-0.
Kenny Omega & Konosuke Takeshita Team Up For Main Event Of Dynamite
Last week on AEW Dynamite, The Elite would call out Blackpool Combat Club for a brawl. When things slipped away from The Elite, Don Callis would come to their aid – bringing Konosuke Takeshita to make the save.
Omega seemed unsure of this, but tonight will unite with Takeshita to face The Butcher & The Blade. Takeshita & Omega both have roots in DDT Pro Wrestling, and look to prove their chemistry in the main event of AEW Dynamite.
Blade & Takeshita would start this match, with Blade nailing some stiff chops – and Takeshita coming back with a big right hand.
Takeshita would nail a jumping dropkick, before Omega got the tag and hit the Rolling Fireman’s Carry into the springboard Moonsault. Omega would get the tag to Takeshita while in the corner, with Takeshita flying off the top rope with a senton.
Kip Sabian would save Blade from a dive by grabbing the ankle of Omega – before Butcher hit a running crossbody. Butcher & The Blade would work together on Omega in the ring, showing their tag team chemistry in this beatdown.
Omega would trade blows with Blade, able to hit the sliding dropkick to the knee before the Kotoro Crusher.
Takeshita would get the tag, gaining speed using the ropes before the Takeshita Line – before some Helluva Kicks in the corner. Butcher would be lifted for a sheerdrop brainbuster, but was able to kick out.
Blade would help set up a big backbreaker from Butcher, before hitting a cutter. Drag The Lake was set up – but Omega made the save before it landed.
Omega would hit the V-Trigger, before Takeshita got a two count off the Blue Thunder Bomb. Sabian & Blade were taken out by a dive from Omega, and Takeshita would put Butcher down with the Power Drive Knee for the victory.
Konosuke Takeshita Brutalized By The Blackpool Combat Club
After the bell, Bryan Danielson would call Kenny Omega an amateur – Takeshita carrying the team to a win. Omega is coasting off his success in Japan, while Takeshita is a man in the prime of his career.
Danielson claimed that if Takeshita trains with The Elite, he will end up like Brandon Cutler or Michael Nakazawa. If Takeshita trained with the BCC – he’d be a World Beater.
Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta attacked from behind, with Omega overwhelmed. The Young Bucks would make the save, before Takeshita prevented Moxley from being stabbed with a screwdriver. This would cost Omega his chance, leading to a Death Rider from Moxle.
Takeshita was shoved into Omega, and was offered a spot in the BCC – only for Yuta to hit a low blow. Moxley would channel Abdullah The Butcher, and gouged Takeshita with the screwdriver – leaving fans sick as Dynamite went off the air.
Will The Elite get ahead of the BCC soon? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
