WWE Friday Night SmackDown continues and we’re about to see our first match of the night. Sasha Banks and Bayley are on commentary for this match which seems to be a triple between the other SmackDown Women’s title challengers. Naomi, Lacey Evans and Tamina. On her way out, Lacey puts a hat on Michael Cole’s head and tosses a handkerchief at Sasha and Bayley.
Tamina vs. Naomi vs. Lacey Evans
Lacey and Naomi want to double team Tamina but she shoves them away. Lacey gets stuck on the apron but shoulder thrusts her way out of it, rolls through into a dropkick to Tamina but doesn’t quite take her down and she retakes the advantage quickly. Naomi wants a sunset flip on Tamina but she holds her ground and blocks it. Pulls her up from the mat and nails her, gets both women on the apron and knocks them to the floor before a commercial break.
As we come back, Tamina keeps pounding Naomi into the mat but she fights to her feet, springboard dropkick, Lacey with a big clothesline to her finally takes her down. Gets her into the corner, springing Bronco Buster. Slingshot elbow drop nailed but Naomi pulls Lacey out of the ring and nails her with a roundhouse kick to the head! Sasha Banks stands, grabs Lacey and slams her into the steps! Naomi goes down to the floor and gives Sasha a roundhouse kick as well!
Springs back to the apron, enziguri staggers her, she rushes into the ring but Tamina catches her and nails her with a belly to belly for a nearfall! Bayley now leaving the table, up onto the apron, hits a hot shot on Naomi, which sends her staggering into the superkick from Tamina and she gets the victory.
Winner: Tamina
I wonder how many people remember Tamina, Naomi and Sasha Banks used to be in the same faction together. It sure isn’t relevant to this upcoming match even though they’re all involved. Afterwards, Bayley enters the ring and offers to shake hands with Tamina, saying that she’s really glad that she’s in the match. Tamina shakes her hand, and then lays her out with a Superkick. Sasha Banks tentatively tries to curry favor and, right as I said that, actually brings up “UNITY”, trying to remind her of the Team BAD days. She responds by planting her with a Samoan Drop which is the correct reaction.
