Since making his return to WWE, it’s been hard to deny that Cody Rhodes is one of the biggest names in the company. Having left the company he started in All Elite Wrestling, Rhodes had bet on himself to reach the top of the card in WWE – and would accomplish that at WrestleMania 39 when he was in the main event with Roman Reigns. Now, he’s been feuding with Brock Lesnar – and trying to be the face of WWE on monday nights.
A Battle Between Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins To See Who Is The Face Of RAW
While speaking with Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture, Cody Rhodes would be asked about his current role in WWE. Rhodes would respond by saying his current goal is to be the face of Monday Night RAW over his rival and current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Cody Rhodes.
“One of my favorite things and I think one of the reasons why I have been in the best position I’ve been in my career is because on the same show I compete with a guy, the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, every week, and it’s not negative. He would like to be the Raw face, and I would like to be the Raw face.
I don’t know, some weeks, maybe we trade it off, but that is what makes this good. Competition is what makes this good, and I needed to compete against the very best. Seth, I say he’s top three, one of the very best, Roman being one of the very best, that’s what been able to bring out the very best in me.”
Recently, Rollins would say he had a healthy level of resentment seeing Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 39. You can read Rollins comments on Rhodes here.
Rhodes is set to face Brock Lesnar at Summerslam, likely in a Texas Bullrope Match. This is their way of ending this feud in violent manner. Meanwhile, Rollins will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor.
