When Dominik Mysterio initially made his WWE debut, he was not in the ideal spot. He was partnered with his legendary father Rey Mysterio in a tag team, and even with them getting time as the Smackdown Tag Team Champions – he was never right as a babyface.
When he turned on his father to join The Judgement Day however, everything came together quick. Dominik began mirroring Eddie Guerrero, is often seen alongside Rhea Ripley – and has shown his skills in the ring. Now, he only sees things improving for his faction – as they gain more and more power.
Dominik Mysterio Sees A Golden Future For The Judgement Day
While speaking with UpNXT, Dominik Mysterio would give his vision of an ideal future in WWE where The Judgement Day continues to gain more gold.
“I think in the next year, I’d definitely like to hold on to my NXT North American Title, for one. I think getting some tag team gold with one of my boys, whether it’s Finn or Damian. They’re probably going to be a little preoccupied because you know, we’ve got to take care of Seth first at SummerSlam. I think Finn is going to come out World Champion, and if that happens, Damian’s still got his briefcase, so he’s probably gonna go after Roman, so our boys are going to be busy. Worst case — not even worst case, best case. I got Mami, but Mami’s a World Champion. So, I don’t know, Judgment Day, we’ve got a lot on our plates. So within the next year or so, I’m just gonna say more gold around the waists of The Judgment Day.”
Potential For a Huge Week As The Judgement Day Becomes A Potential Top Faction
Dominik Mysterio is fresh off a big victory in NXT, where he successfully defended the NXT North American Championship against Wes Lee & Mustafa Ali.
Right now, WWE views The Judgement Day as the next big faction in the company as things begin to come to a conclusion with The Bloodline storyline. Finn Balor will challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship this weekend at Summerslam.
A match with Mysterio & Priest taking on WWE Tag Team Champions Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens has been teased. While this match is not confirmed, there is time before the PPV. Likewise, Rhea Ripley doesn’t have a match yet – but is expected to face Liv Morgan.
