After both Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter would fail to defeat Dakota Kai in singles action, they would align as Team Ninja to face Kai & Raquel Gonzalez in tag team action. They have chemistry from their time on NXT house shows, but would their speed be enough to overcome the most dominant duo in the NXT Women’s division?
Kayden Carter Shows No Fear
Kayden Carter would march right up to Raquel Gonzalez, and show no fear, only to be shoved to the mat. Her athletic ability would lead her to the corner where an impressive armdrag would come with a tag to Catanzaro. The smallest woman in NXT would fail to take down Gonzalez, and despite some double teams, Gonzalez would remain in control. Dakota Kai would enter the ring, and take some offense, including a pop up senton from Katanzaro who would be launched into Kai.
Gonzalez would be tagged in though, and shut them down with ease, always the difference maker. Carter would manage to knock Gonzalez off the apron and have Kai alone, and a wheelbarrow roll-up into a back kick, followed by a huge running kick to the face of Kai, only to get a two count. Catanzaro would be tagged in, and hurricarana Kai right into the other corner. Kai would tag in Gonzalez, who would catch Catanzaro in the air for a one armed powerbomb. While holding up Catanzaro, Gonzalez would boot Carter down. With Catanzaro done, Kai would tag in and tap her out for the win.
Dakota Kai Calls Out Io Shirai
While you’d figure her target would be the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, Dakota Kai would call out NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai. Last week, Io said that NXT was hers, but Kai begs to differ. She’s been the most dominant force in the division, especially with Gonzalez in her corner. If she becomes the champion, the comparisons Kai & Gonzalez have gotten too Shawn Micheals and Diesel will be complete. She gets her chance in a Fatal Four Way next week to crown the #1 contender.
