Last week, Hangman Page & Kenny Omega further secured their legacy as the best tag team in AEW history. They knocked off Best Friends, and raised their tag team record again, defending the AEW Tag Team Championships in the process. However, there is no rest for these champions, as they face Private Party with the title on the line again this week, following their win over Santana & Ortiz last week. Will this rapid pace of title defenses finally lead to the end of the road for Omega & Page?

The Champs Cut The Ring In Half Early

With Matt Hardy in their corner, Private Party has never had a better shot to become tag team champions. He’s one of the best tag team wrestlers ever, and he knows The Elite’s playbook, having filled in for Page tagging with Omega, and was in Stadium Stampede.

Omega would start with Quen, and a handshake would show the respect before the initial lockup. Quen would try to out-wrestle the best bout machine, but rely more on his athletic ability to get ahead. A standing moonsault would meet knees, and Omega would get rought before tagging in Page who quickly knocked Kassidy off the apron. Quen would be ping-ponged between the champs with chops, and Page would hit his bridging fallaway suplex for a near fall.

Rapid tags would maintain control, but a counter to the Kotaro Crusher would get Quen a chance to get Kassidy into the match, They would hit the Silly String DDT, and it would connect but Hangman Page would powerbomb Quen to the crowd. Kassidy would hit a sliding dropkick, and springboard to the outside onto him, not following up on a downed Omega. By the time he’d attempt the Swanton Bomb, Omega would get the knees up and stop him dead in his tracks.

Hangman Page Is The Difference Maker

A quick snap dragon suplex to Kassidy gets Omega back in control, as Page cut off Quen, before he’d be taken out with the assisted German. However, Page would find himself out of the ring soon, and Omega would bit hit with a double spanish fly for a near fall. Kassidy would make a mistake the follow up by trading shots with Omega, one of the hardest hitters in the company. He’d make some headway, before being running into a chop. Omega would run into a slingblade/backbreaker combo however, and Kassidy would get a near fall.

Quen would be tagged in, and take Page off the apron leaving Omega alone. He’d fight hard, and hit Kassidy with the rolling fireman carry before going for a monkey flip on Quen. Page would get the tag during this, and after Quen landed on his partner once, Page would come in and powerbomb him onto his partner again, really sending a message and gettting a near fall.

Private Party would use their speed advantage to take control of the champs, and Hardy would goad Quen on as he went for the 450 Splash. Page would dodge and look for the Buckshot Lariat, only for it to be blocked by Kassidy, who would hit a DDT onto the stage. Page would be in position once again, and Quen took the sky with a shooting star press, but Omega made the last second save.

    Don’t Bet Against The Champs

All Private Party had left was Gin & Juice, but Omega running in with the V-Trigger would stop this real quick. Page would catch Quen with a top rope powerbomb, and they’d sandwhich page with The Last Call. Another successful defense for the champions, who now have a 10-0 tag team record in 2020.

Private Party will be champions someday, and they’re one of the bright young teams in the division. But right now, Page & Omega run this show, and the only thing that could stop them is themselves. What team do you think can stop Omega & Page? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
