WWE Smackdown Results and Recap (8/14) – Retribution Targeted Big E and Morrison

WWE Smackdown Results and Recap here and it looks like we should have a fun show tonight as we near SummerSlam on August 24.

Hopefully, we’ll get some answers tonight, but we think more questions may be likely.

Looks like we’re starting things off with a recap of Retribution’s antic the last two weeks with the power and mic glitches, followed by the fires, vandalism and finally last week’s attack.

Looks like this is going to be the main storyline of the night. Wonder who’s going to the ring first to call them out?

As expected, Corey Graves and Michael Cole started the show talking about them, claiming the WWE has added extra security to ensure tonight’s WWE Smackdown will continue without interruption.

It may be our cynical nature, but we think they’ll slip through. Not like it’s happened before, right?

And we’re getting the actual show off with Big E facing Morrison.

Big E had a brief pre-recorded promo where he pointed out he’s a former singles champion and ended it with a maniacal laugh. Have we gushed about how awesome he is?

Morrison also cut a pre-taped promo where he pointed out Big E doesn’t belong in the singles competition and that the New Day is injury prone, which is lucky for him.

    Big E vs. John Morrison

The match didn’t start and the lights flickered. Maybe some security people around the generators and lines?

Retribution wasted no time in entering the ring and taking over as they beat Big E and Morrison (minus the Miz) up and chased Graves and Cole away before taking off themselves.

The Miz ran out to check on Morrison. Are we going to have this match? And why wasn’t the Miz with him?

Good thing we didn’t predict this or anything.

WWE Smackdown Results and Recap returned from commercial and everyone’s backstage around Big E and Morrison. The Miz apologized because he was on the phone with his wife, and then blamed Big E for tweeting about Retribution all week.

King Corbin then stepped forward and said they need guidance and leadership. Since he’s the king, it’s only natural he lead his kingdom.

However, Corbin started going on how some aren’t worthy and crumble under pressure.

To which Big E stood up and told him to shut up. Big E took it over saying it’s “our house.” He may have been disrespected, but he’s not defeated.

He intended to go out to the ring and beat John Morrison and had everyone with him untul Sheamus approached mock clapping.

He continued by saying he never heard a cry for help being so inspirational.

He claimed Retribution attacked them because he was alone, and that they wouldn’t dare show up during Sheamus’ match because they’re afraid of him.

Big E finished it by pointing out that if Sheamus had any sense, he’d realize Big E wasn’t alone. Big E then led everyone but Sheamus, Corbin, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Cesaro.
