NXT Takeover XXX might not have a match for the NXT Tag Team Championships, but will we know the next contenders for Imperium. Breezango, Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan, and Raul Mendoza & Joaquín Wilde of Legado Del Fantasma would clash in a triple threat tag team match, with the winner earning the right of challenge. This is the sole pre-show match on tonight’s show, but it could rank amongst the best of the night.
Triple Threat Tag Team Chaos
Three men would be in the ring at the same time, once from each team. Fandango, Oney Lorcan and Raul Mendoza would get things started, with Mendoza clearing the ring early using his deadly speed. However, he’d be shoved off the top rope to the floor by Fandango, the biggest man in this match. Wilde would enter the ring and be dropped with a big lariat and then be Razor Edged over the top rope.
Oney Lorcan would be back into this after being dropped with an enziguri and look to beat Fandango while everyone else was down. They would trade shots in the ring, before Fandango would clothesline them both over the top. Mendoza would remind everyone he’s in this match with a big Corkscrew Splash off the top rope to the outside. Wilde would be tagged in, and hit a neckbreaker on Breeze who would hit a DDT on Lorcan.
Burch would be tagged in, and introduce Wilde to his fists with a wild flurry of strikes. He’d hit a big German Suplex followed by a big lariat. Burch & Lorcan would try for a Doomsday Device, but Wilde would slip off Burch’s shoulder. Wilde couldn’t escape them forever, and he’d be hit with an elevated DDT, with Mendoza having to save this match.
Breezango Punch Their Ticket To A Title Shot
Fandango would drop Mendoza with a superkick, and then hit the Last Dance while Mendoza was draped over the knees of Breeze, but Wilde was right there to break the pin up. Mendoza would hit a standing spanish fly, and Wilde would hit a 450 splash, but Burch & Fandango broke the pinfall up.
Lorcan would rush into the ring with some uppercuts, and he’d be dropped with a Supermodel Kick from Breeze, ending this one suddenly! This gives Breezango another shot at Imperium, after losing their previous encounter due to plenty of outside interference. Do you think they’ll win the NXT Tag Team Championships this time around?
