Xia Brookside is someone who gets better with every match she completes, and one day might become a champion. She’s got an infectious positive energy, a legendary last name, but not a great win-loss record.
Nina Samuels walks a similar path, but is much closer to being the star she knows she can be. This match won’t make either the #1 contender, but every win counts in the end, especially in this tight division.
They previously met in a tag team match, where Samuels teamed with Amale but walked out on her, not wanting to share the spotlight. This means Brookside technically has a win over Samuels, the catalyst for this match.
Xia Brookside Shows Her Skills
An early lockup would see Brookside get the wrist control, and she’d hit an arm wringer after flipping around the ropes. Samuels tried to roll out, but took a dropkick from Brookside. A big monkey flip would be followed by some more strong grappling from Brookside, a big headlock takeover.
Samuels tried to counter the side headlock on the mat, only to end up in a single leg boston crab and an indian deathlock. Brookside was forced to let the hold go, and took a big backbreaker from Samuels. Now on top, she’d grind Brookside down with a chinlock, before throwing some kicks to her as she tried to get back to her feet.
Some trash talking would light a fire under Brookside, and she’d hit a hurricanrana and a flying crossbody, getting a two count. Samuels held onto the ring apron to get the referee to get Brookside off her, before hitting a big boot. She’d look for the Air Raid Siren, but Brookside countered out and hit a Codebreaker for a near fall.
A Potential Injury.. Or A New Role To Play
A running double knee strike in the corner would miss, and left Brookside stranded on the middle rope. She’d be yanked to the mat, before Samuels would get to the top rope and cartwheel down, landing awkward on her leg. The referee let the match go on, but a rollup from Brookside ended it quickly.
This looked like an injury, as Samuels would clutch the knee after the match. She’d need help to the back, but then hit a boot to Brookside, she just used her acting skills to fool us all. Will Samuels win the next match with Brookside? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
