It’s main event time, and it’s four of the most combustible forces in AEW. On one side we have the new TNT Champion Darby Allin and Cody Rhodes, taking on Brian Cage & Ricky Starks of Team Taz. So we have one Champion, the #3 ranked Rhodes, the #4 ranked Brian Cage, and the #5 ranked Ricky Starks. Someone will emerge here as the star, and perhaps a challenger for the TNT Championship, but all we know going into this one is that it’s going to be an absolute war!

Team Taz Gets Help From Their Leader

Allin would get things started with Starks, Starks showing his pure wrestling ability. He’d control Allin with a hammerlock, but Allin came back with his speed, going for an armdrag and dodging the chop block from Starks. They’d exchange strikes, Allin getting Starks just right and knocking him silly.

Cage & Rhodes tagged in, and Rhodes hit some jabs before Cage came back with a hip toss into a backbreaker. Rhodes countered a powerslam and got a big dropkick, then came off the top rope with a moonsault press. Taz would head to ringside to help lead his troops, as we went into picture in picture.

Throughout the break, Allin & Rhodes would beat down Cage with some quick tags in and out. Cage got the edge after Taz grabbed his foot, Cage clotheslined him over the top and then dumped him onto the floor with a powerbomb. The beatdown continued in the ring , Cage grinding him down.

As we came back, Rhodes would counter a back suplex, hit the throat thrust, stop Starks from making the save, and hit a crossbody to Cage. He’d be caught and curled, thrown over the head of Cage, but land on his feet. Starks would pull Allin off the apron as Rhodes went for the tag, and Rhodes took a release German Suplex.

Rhodes was isolated at this point, and Starks tagged himself in and stomped on Rhodes. He’d unload in a neutral corner with strikes, cut the ring in half and apply a chinlock. Allin was eager for a tag, and Rhodes would break the hold. A big back body drop to Starks, and the tag was made.

    Brian Cage Is A Machine

Allin would dodge Starks, take Cage off the apron and get a quick Jackknife pin, getting a two count. Cage got tagged in, and suplexed both Starks and Allin, not realizing his partner was involved. He’d go for a powerbomb on Allin, but was hit with a Code Red for a very close pin.

Starks came in and looked for Cross Rhodes, and Cody would show him how it’s done. Cage would take out Allin with a superkick, and hit Rhodes with a Burning Hammer. Allin was set up on the top rope, but fought Cage off. Before he could dive, Starks grabbed his boot and Cage hit a jumping knee. He’d follow up with a Drillclaw from the top rope, and you could count to 100 and Allin still wouldn’t kick out.

Afterwards, Team Taz kept beating them down. Allin was barely alive, and they wanted to do the same to Cody. Will Hobbs made the save with a steel chair, before putting eyes on the FTW Championship. He’d take Rhodes out with it, having joined Team Taz.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
