Curt Stallion is the number one contender for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship, yet Santos Escobar barely even knows his name. Ahead of their coming clash, Stallion has Raul Mendoza of Legado Del Fantasma across the ring from him, with one goal in mind.
That is to teach Santos Escobar who he is, and why he should be worried about their upcoming match. Wilde would be at ringside, but Escobar still won’t acknowledge who Stallion even is.
Raul Mendoza In Complete Control
They’d lock up, and Mendoza showed his speed early, getting behind and tossing Stallion to the mat. Stallion tried to roll into an ankle pick, but Mendoza saw it coming from a mile away. A quick knuckle lock would see Stallion grab the arm of Mendoza with an aggressive armbar, before being sent off into the corner to be chopped.
Stallion would send Mendoza over the top rope, but Mendoza landed on his feet, dropped the neck of Stallion over the rope before hitting a very slick rope walk missile dropkick. This only got a one count, and Mendoza would start to just put boots to Stallion.
Mendoza applied a head and arm choke in the middle of the ring, and Stallion had to fight to his feet. That just meant Mendoza got moving again, sending him down for a hard dropkick to the side of the head, and then breaking the pinfall up himself at two. He’d tell Stallion he will never be champion, and doesn’t even deserve to share the ring with him.
Curt Stallion Goes Strong Style
The Lone Star would fire up with some hard strikes to the face of Mendoza, before hitting the knee lift into a rolling forearm. He’d dash into a low suicide dive, sending Mendoza back into the corner. The running big boot, leg trip and hesitation dropkick calls back to the legendary Katsuyori Shibata, but Shibata never followed this up with a foot stomp into a pulling DDT.
This combo got Stallion a two count, and a running double stomp got more of the same. Stallion went to the top rope but was met by Mendoza. They’d brawl up high, and while Mendoza was fought off he came back with a handspring into a kick to the head, followed by a springboard frankensteiner.
Stallion went for a German Suplex, but instead had it turned around. He’d land on his feet, but take an Enziguri to the head. Mendoza went for the driver, Stallion countered and got the pinfall win. Afterwards, Wilde would attack Stallion, and it became two on one.
