When it comes to making a WWE debut for a female superstar, you can do worse than sharing the ring with Charlotte Flair, Bayley and Natalya. This is what Sareena Sandhu gets for her debut, as she teams with Charlotte Flair. She will be no slouch in the ring, having competed in Impact Wrestling, Tokyo Joshi Pro and DDT over her five year career, and could make a big impact tonight.
Sandhu is a first generation Indian-American, and was trained by the same person who trained Bayley. She is also trained in kickboxing, and is a full time nursing student, while also being part of the active WWE roster now!
Sareena Sandhu Takes Flight
Charlotte got started with Natalya, old rivals who know each other very well. Natalya was able to counter a wrist lock into one of her own, before getting a snapmare and stomping on the neck of Flair. Flair would get right back up, and Bayley tagged in to take some heavy chops.
Bayley & Natalya were dropped by chops, and Sandhu tagged in to hit a big diving crossbody off the top rope, taking out both opponents. Sandhu and Flair both nailed baseball slide dropkicks to the outside, flooring their opponents before dancing in the ring as a commercial break came and went.
Coming back from the break, Flair has been isolated in the corner of Natalya & Bayley but got a knee op to Natalya. A neckbreaker and exploder suplex hit Natalya, and Bayley tagged in just to take an exploder into the wrong corner. After a backbreaker, Sandhu tagged in and took the fight to Bayley with some arm drags and a flying headscissors. A double underhook suplex would get a two count, before taking a back elbow from Bayley.
Charlotte Flair Is The Deciding Factor
Natalya tagged in, and wanted a suplex but was rolled up into a small package for a two count. Sandhu got a slap to the face, Natalya mouthing off before being caught with a quick neckbreaker for another near fall. Bayley took a right hand on the apron, and Sandhu turned into a boot to the chest from Natalya. A chop block from Bayley on the outside would attack the legs, allowing Natalya to follow up in the ring.
Sandhu would counter a submission from Natalya into one of her own, before Bayley broke it up. Flair would get knocked off the apron right before a tag could be made, but got revenge on Bayley with a big boot on the outside. Back in the ring, Sandhu would be slapped across the face, before being locked in the Sharpshooter. Flair dashed in, hit Natural Selection and let Sandhu pin the former women’s champion!
Sandhu showed her years of in-ring experience in his match, not looking out of place alongside three of the more veteran members of the roster. Getting a pin on Natalya in your debut match is huge, and we can expect big things from Sandhu in the future.
