Last week on NXT UK, we saw Kay Lee Ray defend her NXT UK Women’s Championship once again. This time she knocked off Jinny, in her third title defense since NXT UK restarted. Kay Lee Ray has called for the Best in the World to come face her. Unlucky for Kay Lee Ray, it seems has answered her call, and is on her way to NXT UK. Make way for the Final Boss of Joshi.
No Stranger To WWE Or The UK
While the legend of Satomura was primarily built in Japan, WWE fans got a taste of her hard hitting style in the second Mae Young Classic. During that tournament, she had one of the best matches of the tournament with NXT’s Mercedes Martinez, as well as destroying Impact Wrestling’s Killer Kelly. She was unable to win, but she left a serious impact.
A legend like her should have been able to jump right to NXT, but the UK is a second home to Satomura, who put in some miles with companies like Progress Wrestling & wXw. In Progress, she is a former Women’s Champion, having been the one Jinny beat to claim the title. This makes NXT UK a perfect home for Meiko Satomura as she enters a new stage of her career, and her first target is Kay Lee Ray.
“Many wrestlers say I’m the best in the world. I’ve taken many titles in Japan. And now I’m here in NXT UK. Be prepared.”
Meiki Satomura Will Be A Coach & Wrestler For The Brand
Satomura will not just be applying her years of experience to the ring however, she will be doubling as an in-ring talent and a couch at the WWE Performance Center in the UK. This means that students there can now get training from both WALTER & Satomura. Which means we are going to get a whole new generation of wrestlers who will seek to cave their opponents chests in with either chops or kicks, while also having deadly technical skills.
This is a game changer for the brand, and Satomura will surely elevate anyone she shares a ring with on or behind the scenes. Are you excited to see Meiko Satomura in NXT UK?
