Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results!
I’m your host, CP Bialois, and I’m looking forward to tonight as we move one step closer to the Elimination Chamber PPV and some more matches should be added.
Tonight will also mark the return of Seth Rollins and WWE Smackdown Live Results can’t wait to see who the Messiah chooses to show the way.
We’re crossing our fingers they won’t have the name Mysterio.
So grab some snacks and we’ll see you back here at the 8 p.m. EST showtime.
Segment 1
Reigns squashed Adam Pearce’s attempt to have him defend his championship in an Elimination Chamber and said he’ll face whoever wins right then and there.
Pearce announced qualifying matches throughout the night, but said Jey Uso and Kevin Owens don’t need to qualify and are in.
Segment 2
Rey and Dominik Mysterio vs. King Corbin and Sami Zayn
The winners get two spots in the Elimination Chamber match.
The action started fast as Rey set the pace, and the Mysterios held the ring as Corbin and Zayn regrouped on the floor as we headed to commercial.
Segment 3
This was a fun back and forth that Zayn won after hitting a Helluva Kick on Dominik for the win, sending him and Corbin to the Elimination Chamber.
Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode talked themselves into a Chamber if they defeat Cesaro and Daniel Bryan later tonight.
Segment 4
A recap of last week’s Intercontinental Championship match showed and Big E was about to issue an open challenge when Apollo Crews came out.
Big E told him anyone but him could accept, and Shinsuke Nakamura came out.
We’re guessing Crews will interfere and force another triple threat or something like that.
Segment 5
Intercontinental Championship – Big E (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
The match was already in progress when we returned from commercial, and Crews ended a good match by hitting Big E with a dropkick, disqualifying Nakamura.
The locker room came out to the ring for Seth Rollins’ return. Is he going to give us another Messiah speech like he did on Raw last year?
Segment 6
The Messiah is back. Seth Rollins came out to his old music and went on his his baby daughter changed him.
It was a great personal speech giving hint to him doing a face turn, but then he went into his Messiah speech again.
Everyone but Cesaro left, and when Cesaro tried Rollins attacked him.
Cool welcome back, but did they have to copy hit Raw Messiah turn almost to the letter? At least he didn’t blame everyone for losing at Survivor Series this time.
Segment 7
Bayley vs. Liv Morgan w/Ruby Riott
This was a pretty good match that Morgan nearly won a couple of times. Billie Kay came out and accidentally distracted the referee so Bayley could rake her eyes and hit a knee for the pin.
Segment 8
The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) vs. Otis and Chad Gable
This was a better match than we expected and Otis and Gable came close to winning it before Dawkins hit a spinebuster on Gable and Ford hit a splash off the top rope for the win.
Segment 9
Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair exchanged pleasantries and Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax came out.
After a mocking back and forth, Banks and Belair wiped the floor with Baszler and Jax. This should be interesting going forward.
Segment 10
The Dirty Dawgs (Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode) vs. Cesaro and Daniel Bryan
This started off as a good back and forth until Roode pushed Cesaro into Bryan’s suicide dive on the floor to gain the advantage.
Zayn and Corbin came out to watch as we headed to commercial.
Segment 11
This was the best match of the night as Cesaro won it by submission by locking a sharpshooter on Ziggler.
Jey Uso, Zayn, and Corbin then attacked them, then each other.
Owens then came out and hit a stunner on everyone but Zayn as he’s really selling the “Stone Cold” Steve Austin type of persona.
Owens then sat on a chair in the middle of the ring and told Reigns he’s not going anywhere and he’s coming for him.
This was a pretty good show overall, through it’s surprising ending carnage didn’t wait until next week with one more episode to go until the pay-per-view.
Not sure how we feel about this new regular trend heading into WWE pay-per-views.
What did you think of it? let us know in the comments below, and thank you for joining WWE Smackdown Live Results. We had a great time and can’t wait until next week.
