WWE Royal Rumble 2021 Preview [Two Royal Rumble Matches, Goldberg vs. Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns]

It’s time to properly start the road to Wrestlemania once again. The Royal Rumble is here once again, with two of the titular matches set to occur. Both the men & women of the roster get a 30 person over the top rope battle royal, with the winners moving onwards to a title match at Wrestlemania. We also have four championship matches set for the event, so let’s break down everything announced!

Kevin Owens Gets One More Chance At Roman Reigns & The Universal Championship

After an insane TLC match, and a brutal cage match, you would think Kevin Owens would not want to step up to Roman Reigns anymore. However, after both of those matches, Owens was still standing. Reigns claims to be this dominant force, but keeps needing help to beat Owens. Tonight, it’s Last Man Standing, and Reigns will realize just how much it takes to keep someone like Owens down for ten long seconds.

Goldberg Looks To Claim His First WWE Championship

During his time in WWE, Goldberg has held the World Heavyweight & Universal Championships, and now looks to add the WWE Championship to that list. He strolled to the ring at the end of RAW Legends Night, claimed that McIntyre was disrespectful to those who came before him, and challenged him to a title match. McIntyre backs down from no challenge, and after slaying Brock Lesnar last year, Drew McIntyre will face down another larger than life icon.

Sasha Banks Defends The Smackdown Women’s Championship Against Carmella Again

At TLC 2020, Sasha Banks was able to defend the Smackdown Women’s Championship against Carmella. However, Carmella was not done aggravating the champion alongside her manager Reginald, to the point where Banks was ready to just give Carmella a shot to shut her up. Banks got a match with Reginald along the way, and tapped him out. Now she will look to do the same against Carmella again.

Asuka & Charlotte Flair Defend The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships Against Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler

At TLC 2020, it was supposed to be Asuka & Lana challenging Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Jax & Baszler took Lana out before the match, prompting Asuka to find a new partner in Charlotte Flair. They’d defeat the champions, but now need to win the rematch tonight. Asuka & Flair are great rivals, and have proven to be decent partners, but it’s unclear how long their partnership will last.

    Women’s Royal Rumble Match

The first of two Royal Rumble matches of the night will see thiry women from WWE enter for a title shot at Wrestlemania. Shayna Baszler, Alexa Bliss, Peyton Royce, Bianca Belair, Bayley, Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax, Mandy Rose, Dana Brooke, Tamina, Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott & Natalya have all been declared for the match. This gives 17 open slots for NXT, RAW, Smackdown and legends. Natalya has the #30 slot, but this is anyones match.

    Men’s Royal Rumble Match

Much like the women’s match, thirty men will enter the Royal Rumble for a title shot at Wrestlemania. Randy Orton, Edge, AJ Styles, Big E, Daniel Bryan, Sheamus, Jeff Hardy, Bobby Lashley, Jey Uso, Cesaro, The Miz, John Morrison, Otis, Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura, Dolph Ziggler, & Mustafa Ali have all declared entry to the match. This leaves 13 open slots, and Randy Orton & Edge start the match at #1 & #2.

Who will win tonight’s Royal Rumble matches? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
