This was originally supposed to be a clash between Riddle, Keith Lee & Bobby Lashley over the WWE United States Championship. However, an injury to Keith Lee caused by Lashley on Monday night RAW changed this. A Fatal Four Way match was held on the preshow, which saw John Morrison win and join this Triple Threat match instead! Morrison had a chance to get in the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber match, but failed to get through. Now, he’s got another chance to be a champion tonight.
Lashley Is A Force Of Nature
Lashley would have all the confidence in the world coming into this one, going right after Riddle, and Morrison let him get mauled. Once Lashley backed off, Morrison stepped in only to be thrown across the ring. Riddle hopped onto Lashley with a sleeper hold, before being thrown off. Morrison got him with the kick the head before being sent to the outside.
Lashley followed Morrison to the outside, got him in the torture rack and drove him face first into the ring post. Riddle ran in, and was thrown with an exploder suplex on the mat. Back in the ring, Riddle was hit with a neckbreaker, and even with both Morrsion and Riddle working together, it was still uneven!
Riddle & John Morrison Work Together
They’d work it out to get Riddle attacking him from behind, but after getting some blows in on Lashley, they were taken out. Lashley hit a spear on Riddle, but was taken to the outside and hit with a PK before Morrison dove over the ropes onto Lashley. Riddle followed up with floating bro, but Morrison threw him into the ring post.
Morrison & Riddle threw strikes in the middle of the ring, before Riddle went for a submission. Riddle dodged a German Suplex and hit a Pele Kick, followed up with an exploder suplex, the broton and a PK. A german suplex got a near fall, and Lashley was back. Riddle hit Final Flash and set up floating bro, but Morrison broke the pin up. He’d hit Starship Pain, and Lashley kicked out.
MVP would have his crutch stolen, but Lashley locked him in the Hurt Lock. Riddle grabbed the crutch, broke the hold up and nailed Morrison with the Broderek for the win! Matt Riddle is the United States Champion!
