Sebastian Flair Finds It Hard To Live Up To His Stepfather Ric Flair
Sebastian, for his part, is trying to make waves in the music industry, but as a fellow entertainer, he knows all too well the expectations that will be thrust upon him due to the close connection with Ric. In an interview with The Wrestling Inc. Daily podcast, Sebastian spoke on how intense the pressure can get.
He said: “When Ric Flair’s your stepdad, you always feel pressured to match up and try to be like him. He’s so great, honestly. I do strive to kind of reach to that level and reach those heights and all that. So there’s definitely pressure for sure.”
And his bid to live up to Ric has taken a severe blow due to the pandemic. After all, with concerts unable to go ahead, the music scene has taken a big hit. And yet, he is ready to kick on once the opportunity arises again. He added: “That is very annoying, not gonna lie. That is very annoying in the sense of being an artist and wanting to get out and perform in front of people, but also, I love going to shows.
“And I can’t even go see my favourite artist either. Especially, like you were saying, starting out in this time period is very unique. I had it explained to me this way that everything right now, the focus is all on digital.”
But when it comes to the wrestling game, Sebastian is a bit coyer and chooses to keep his cards close to his chest. That is unlike, however, Ric, who made recent headlines due to the climatic story arc with Lacey Evans in which the latter was pregnant, much to the ‘excitement’ of Ric for obvious reasons. So what did Sebastian think of it all?
Well, here is what he had to say: “Well, I won’t say much about that except it’s definitely an interesting watch. Family drama is always fun to watch. That’s why they have all these reality TV shows.” If Sebastian becomes half as successful as Ric, then he will be just fine.
