On last week’s Raw, titles challenges where in the air after Bobby Lashley destroyed the Miz in Lashley’s first title defense in a dominate performance WWE Raw Preview enjoyed.
The Miz was a good buffer champion and he really sold the heel angle, making it all the more entertaining to see who’s going to step up next.
With the Lashley looking for an opponent for Fastlane, it should be interesting to see who shakes out of the woodwork.
Meanwhile, a couple of Raw’s other championships are on deck.
Ali challenges Riddle for United States gold
Mustafa Ali continued his rage against the WWE machine as he continued his feud with Riddle by pointing out he defeated the United States Champion and should be the top contender.
So, Ali was granted his opportunity as they then announced he’ll face Riddle for the US title on tonight’s episode.
This should be a good match given Riddle and Ali’s athleticism and ability to put in good performances night after night.
WWE Raw Preview chose good instead of great simply because we expect the rest of Retribution to get involved somehow.
We already expect Riddle to win, the question is will it be by disqualification or will he fight off Retribution to retain the championship?
The Hurt Business vs. the New Day
While the WWE and United States Championships are heading into new water, the Raw Tag Team Championship is going the typical safe route as the Hurt Business will defend against the New Day.
Considering the WWE doesn’t really bother with the tag team division, it’s no wonder the division is dominated in recent years by a couple of teams, with the New Day at the top.
Last week we heard all about the New Day’s opportunity to win their 11th tag team championship.
Because of the announcers pushing them so hard, we tend to think they’ll fall short in their bid, but never fear because a rematch is coming at Fastlane and that one they’ll win.
There’s been no official announcement, but it follows the WWE’s standard operating procedure barring the return on the Viking Raiders or another team they’ve kept quiet.
To be honest, we hope the Hurt Business holds onto the titles through WrestleMania, but given they’ve been shown weaker without MVP at ringside the last two weeks, we doubt that’ll happen.
