Riddle won the United States Championship in a Triple Threat Match at Elimination Chamber, pinning John Morrison to win the belt from Bobby Lashley. Since then, he’s managed a single defense over Mustafa Ali, after Ali was able to beat him on the March 1st episode of Monday Night RAW.
This one is the rubber match, with Riddle & Ali at one a piece. Now, Ali is looking for one more chance to take this title off ‘The Original Bro’, in an attempt to purify the legacy of the championship and bring honor back. Ali blamed that past failure on Retribution, and tonight wants to show them how it’s done.
Mustafa Ali Sets The Pace
Ali would slip out of the ring as Riddle quickly approached, trying to set the pace of this match. He’d get back into the ring and try to corner Riddle, before being promptly outwrestled and tossed about. Riddle was able to hit the Bro-ton, getting a two count.
Ali blocked an exploder suplex attempt by grabbing the ropes, before being tripped up and Riddle went for another Bro-ton. Instead, he was kicked away in mid-air and put the apron. Ali spun Riddle head first into the ring post, before following up with a dropkick.
Riddle would fight back with some forearm strikes, before being taken down with a knee to the mid-section. Ali applied a body scissor hold, but Riddle powered out and looked for Bro-Derek. Riddle was countered and drop kicked right into the middle turnbuckle.
Riddle Pulls Out A New Trick
Ali kept the pressure on Riddle, and used his speed to set up a rolling backstabber for a nearfall. Riddle was put in a chinlock in the middle of the ring, but would fight out by attacking the braced left knee of Ali. Ali would once again shove Riddle into the corner, and look to follow up with a neckbreaker. Instead, Riddle nearly countered into a rear naked choke.
Riddle would be countered into a pinfall, but was able to kick out and absolutely run through Ali with forearm strikes, a PK, powerbomb and the Final Flash knee strike. Ali kicked out, and had to block the Flying Bro, who had to use his hurt left knee. He’d try the flying DDT, but Riddle countered into a Fisherman Buster. Ali kicked out, and went right into the Koji Clutch on Riddle.
Riddle wouldn’t be able to get the ropes and had to power back up to his feet to drop Ali. Ali refused to let Riddle climb the top rope, before being taken up to the middle rope for an avalanche Bro-Derek to win.
After the match, Ali would berate Retribution once again, with Reckoning walking out. Slapjack, Mace, and T-Bar all followed. But only after a double chokeslam from Mace & T-Bar, who are now unleashed. Is this the end of Retribution? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
