Hello and welcome to WWE Raw Results!
We expect this episode to be a fun one as new storylines are set up for the stretch run to WrestleMania and the reported main roster debut of Rhea Ripley.
Let’s not waste any time and get to the action!
Bobby Lashley w/MVP vs. Sheamus
This is a great way to start the show, but we have to wonder how physical it’ll be after Sheamus’ match against Drew McIntyre last night at WWE Fastlane.
Sheamus came out in his usual way, and they started off with a lockup and Lashley slapped on a front face lock Sheamus broke by backing Lashley into the corner.
Sheamus locked in an armbar and switched to a front face lock when he got Lashley on the mat.
Lashley reached the ropes to break the hold, then backed Sheamus into the corner where Lashley pounded away after they exchanged initial blows.
Sheamus caught Lashley’s charge with a boot, then hit a clothesline off the ropes and followed it with a knee and some stomps.
Sheamus pressed a knee in Lashley’s neck, then chopped him down before Lashley fought back and hit a snap suplex. Lashley then locked in a reverse chin lock and neck hold.
Sheamus fought loose with a couple of elbows and went for a White Noise, but Lashley reversed out of it and hit a neckbreaker for a pin attempt.
Lashley went back to a chin lock and Sheamus tried to fight out of it with some elbows, but Lashley hammered away and backed him into the ropes.
Sheamus reversed a whip into the ropes, but Lashley held on and dumped Sheamus onto the apron. Sheamus then hung him up on the top rope and took a quick break before ducking a right before Lashley nailed him with a clothesline.
The rest of the Hurt Business came out, and while Cedric Alexander kept the official busy, Shelton Benjamin hit Sheamus with a clothesline on the floor as we headed to commercial.
Back and forth
Back from commercial, they’re back in the ring and Lashley was in control with a rear chinlock.
Sheamus fought to his feet and hit a couple of elbows to break the hold, and caught Lashley with a kick before Lashley hit a powerslam for a pin attempt.
Lashley told Alexander that he didn’t need him getting involved and Sheamus took advantage of it to roll Lashley up for a near pinfall.
Sheamus then sidestepped Lashley’s charge and Lashley hit the ring post through the ropes.
Sheamus hit two axhandles before Lashley shoved him back and charged. Sheamus sidestepped him and Lashley went to the apron where Sheamus nailed him across the shoulders with clubbing blows.
Sheamus then turned him around and hit his clubbing blows. Lashley caught his last attempt and Sheamus headbutted him to the floor where Lashley ran into the announce desk.
Sheamus headed to the top rope and hit a clothesline and then threw him back into the ring.
Sheamus climbed to the top rope again and hit another clothesline for a near pinfall.
Sheamus hefted Lashley up, but Lashley slipped out and hammered Sheamus’ back, and went for a slam but Sheamus slipped free and hit a knee strike for a near pinfall.
So close
Sheamus readied for the Brogue Kick but Lashley dodged it, and Lashley ran into a reverse elbow.
Sheamus kicked at Alexander when he partially climbed in and Lashley hit a spine buster and then locked in the Hurt Lock for the submission.
Sheamus did far better than we expected after his brutal match last night and could’ve won had it not been for the rest of the Hurt business.
After the match, Benjamin and Alexander pulled Sheamus to the floor and beat him down with blows and stomps.
Drew McIntyre came out and drove Benjamin into the barricade, and caught Alexander in mid air to drive him into the barricade and then threw him over it.
McIntyre turned his attention to Benjamin again and Benjamin backed down, so McIntyre climbed into the ring to face Lashley.
Lashley held the belt high and McIntyre talked trash as MVP tried to keep Lashley back.
McIntyre dared him to throw the first punch with his hands behind his back while MVP kept reminding Lashley it’s business.
Lashley eventually left the ring much to WWE Raw Results surprise.
Backstage, Lashley wasn’t happy with his Hurt Business partners for getting involved.
Alexander tried to say it was a Hurt Business move and Lashley said he didn’t want their help.
MVP told them they tarnished Lashley’s image as it made it look like he couldn’t beat Sheamus himself, just like they embarrassed themselves when they lost the Raw Tag Team Championships.
He told them to think about it, then he and Lashley left them.
Ever have one of those days? The Hurt Business are having one and WWE Raw Results don’t think it’s going to end well for them.
