This is going to be an interesting episode for WWE Smackdown Preview as we’re looking forward to the next development in the Sami Zayn storyline.
There have been a couple really awesome heel turns in the last year with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, but Sami Zayn has take it to another level.
While it’s arguable if Zayn was a face in recent memory due to different points of view, the fact is he’s really killed it during the current storyline.
It’s hard for someone to purposely sound super annoying and paranoid and engaging at the same time, but he’s done that and with him facing Kevin Owens at WrestleMania we expect it to only get better.
Before that we’re going to have Zayn’s red carpet premier of his documentary that’ll reveal the WWE’s conspiracy against him.
This a classic angle with a new twist on it and we’re excited to see how it’ll play out with Logan Paul in attendance.
More celebrity firepower
The WWE has never been shy about bringing in any and all celebrities they feel will help get attention on their product, so this isn’t a surprise.
Since Paul has stated he’ll be at WrestleMania 37 we expect him to have a larger role in the pay-per-view, but before then he’s going to be Sami Zayn’s guest of honor for the premier.
Zayn has shown him some part of his documentary so Paul is in the know one way or the other, and they’ll settle in to watch and evaluate tonight.
This is where we expect things to go sideways as Kevin Owens will either interrupt them or destroy the footage, furthering Zayn’s belief everyone’s against him.
It’ll add heat to their match and bring a possible altercation between the friends with Paul getting involved someway and being added to the WrestleMania card.
Whether he’ll be a special guest referee, in Zayn’s corner, or part of a handicap match against Owens is anyone’s guess.
Honestly, WWE Smackdown Preview hopes he’s not involved in the match aside from a referee position as Owens and Zayn will give us an awesome match as it is.
Despite us being tired of the constant run of gimmicks instead of relying on the talent to tell a story, we’re looking forward to this.
