Let’s go to the movie side of things of the industry for an article. If you don’t watch movies and aren’t bothered by any of the current movie versions of Ghost of Tsushima or Uncharted. We still have a lot of other video games articles you can check out instead of this.
Anyway, it seems like the upcoming movies made from original Sony IPs like Uncharted and Ghost of Tsushima will be coming to Netflix after their cinema run. It is not a massive surprise that Netflix is making more deals with other companies after they are already the place where a lot of Ubisoft TV shows are on their way.
It should also be noted that this deal with Sony does cover other movies and has only been confirmed in the US at the moment. Nothing a VPN can’t help.
Another step towards paid premiere on Netflix
Over the Pandemic period, we have had a lot of movies go straight to streaming services. Where you can pay a usual cinema price and watch the film from the comfort of your home. I recently did this with Kong Vs. Godzilla.
It is surprising that Netflix currently is one of the only places where you can’t watch these movies.
Netflix feels like it could be a great place for these types of offers. They also love increasing their prices, and there are probably many movie buffs, like me, who would pay a monthly premium price to watch all of the upcoming films instead of going to the cinema. Netflix seems to be doing things a little different lately.
Who else could Netflix make a deal with?
Ubisoft and Sony have now made a deal with Netflix. It feels like it is only the start. There are a lot of other massive companies in the industry that could get involved. There are so many different game stories that could make the jump to movies and TV shows in the future.
Massive gaming industry titans like Nintendo, Xbox, EA and Square Enix could all make the step to making a deal with a streaming service in the near future. It seems like in the next few years, we will see a lot more deals. Both industries are starting to collide and on a massive scale.
