Since making his return to NXT UK, Sam Gradwell’s mouth has been getting him into trouble. First he ended up in a brutal no DQ match with Ilja Dragunov, and now he’s ended up in a match with Dave Mastiff. Mastiff is a hard draw for anyone to fight, and the brutal brawling style of Gradwell will have to be cranked up to eleven if he wants a chance at victory in this one. Gradwell has only himself to blame for the beating he’ll get here, and might stick to calling out people smaller than him.
Sam Gradwell Shows Just How Good He Is
They’d lock up to start and Gradwell was trying to prove that he could match Mastiff in power, but got sent to the ropes. Coming back at Mastiff, he’d end up in a hammerlock. Don’t forget, Mastiff isn’t a brute, and he was wrestling as good as he throws hands. Gradwell took some punches to the face and was sent off the ropes and hit with a knee strike.
Two rolling sentons from Mastiff got him a near fall on Gradwell, before he was picked up and hit with the rolling fireman’s carry. Gradwell blocked a senton by getting his knees up, his knee brace cutting into the back of Mastiff for extra pain. Taking advantage, Gradwell nailed some clubbing blows and got a near fall on Mastiff.
He’d call Mastiff a blob before applying a headlock, both of these irritating The Bomber. Gradwell grabbed a handful of beard before talking trash and Mastiff hit a headbutt and crossbody block for a two count. Some big lariats would set up The Divide, but the bad back slowed him down. Gradwell was able to get Mastiff up and drop him with a driver for the win.
This was the biggest win of Gradwells career. What could be next for Mastiff after this win? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
