Last week on NXT, Bronson Reed ensured that Santos Escobar didn’t get into the match between MSK & Legado Del Fantasma by squishing him into the barricade. Escobar would call Reed out, and he did. He’d get them to show Escobar getting squished a few times and hit the ring. MSK would back him up, and Escobar had a great idea.
Legado Del Fantasma Make A Unique Challenge To Bronson Reed & MSK
He’d call them out for a winner takes all match, a six man tag match where Legado Del Fantasma could claim the North American Championship & Tag Team Championships. Reed & MSK gladly accepted, and that match won’t be far away. It’s been a while since WWE pulled this stipulation out, but if anyone can pull off a win like this it’s Legado Del Fantasma.
They showed their trios expertise when they dismantled KUSHIDA & MSK, so Reed might be the difference maker. Before they’d finished up, Hit Row made their way to ringside, and seemed to be interested in making the same deal with MSK & Reed if they’re able to retain, with Swerve having a history with Reed. But first, he’s gotta slay another beast.
Swerve Gets Help From Hit Row With Killian Dain
Last week, Killian Dain & Drake Maverick bumped into Hit Row in the parking lot. Swerve, Top Dolla, Adonis & Brandy didn’t have time for Maverick & Dain last week, but tonight Swerve intends to send a message in the ring. He will take on Dain here, and is dwarfed in size.
Dain would easily shove Swerve into a corner before showing some grappling expertise with a wrist lock. He’d move Swerve around with ease for a shoulder tackle and Fireman’s Carry. Swerve slipped to the outside and let Hit Row save him from a dive and pull a distraction, but Dain quickly bounced back and hit Swerve with a lariat.
Dain again got distracted, and got tripped up and kicked in the face twice by Swerve. Swerve finally took control and kept Dain grounded briefly. Dain got back to his feet and threw some heavy blows before throwing Swerve across the ring. Swerve used his speed to try and take control again before taking a crossbody block for a two count.
Dain missed a pump kick and took a rolling flatliner before a House Call kick to the head kept him down for a two count. Swerve was dumped down with Wasteland before looking for a senton and Vader Bomb. Adonis would grab his ankle and be taken out by Maverick, before Top Dolla took Maverick out. Swerve nailed a dropkick in the corner, and got the pinfall.
Swerve is finally hitting his stride in NXT, with Hit Row making him already feel like a main event talent. Dain looked strong in defeat, needing many distractions to be taken down. A solid TV match that pushes Swerve one step higher. Match Rating: 2.5/5 (** 1/2)
