The WWE is working to win back fans in the best known way, and that’s to bring back stars they know will draw in the fans.
With the “Summer of Cena” underway, there have been numerous reports that the Rock is returning as well.
This will be a great way for the company to combat the reports of Daniel Bryan and CM Punk signing with AEW, as when the Rock appeared on the first Smackdown on Fox it scored 4 million viewers.
Basically, double its average.
Here is our conversation on @Matmenpodcast regarding the Rock returning at Survivor Serieshttps://t.co/2V96hlf66L

Returning for Smackdown
With John Cena the focus for SummerSlam, it’s been reported by Andrew Zarian on the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast that the Rock is scheduled to return for Survivor Series.
An added caveat is that just like John Cena, the Rock will be allowed to move from brand to brand to help increase their ratings and buzz for the pay-per-view.
As Sportskeeda reported, Zarian said, “I can tell you, USA Network tentatively wants him on that Monday. By the way, he’s gonna go everywhere. This isn’t just a RAW storyline. He’s going to go everywhere.”
Our understanding is the date mention is following Survivor Series and the Rock’s likely return.
It also give credence to the popular belief that he’ll face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania to conclude the Tribal Chief storyline and Reigns will turn face during or after that match.
Tight fit
Of course, this is assuming the WWE and the Rock can come together on a schedule as it’s a safe bet he’ll be in the process of making movies or appearing on various shows.
He’s the world’s highest grossing actor currently, and the demand for him isn’t going to dwindle anytime so, which makes this the perfect time for him to appear in the WWE.
The downside to this is that he could get injured in a match like he did a few years back and that could mess up any scheduling that’s done.
Because of that, we doubt he’ll see much in ring action aside from the pay-per-views as they build for a final confrontation between him and Reigns to determine who truly sits at the head of the table.
Aside from that and a few scheduling headaches, we expect to see the Rock back in the ring in some capacity before too long.
