Sean Strickland is clapping back at critics following the viral video of his sparring session with Orlando Sanchez. The video, which went viral last month, shows Strickland getting very upset with Sanchez following an attempt by the BJJ master to crank his arm.
Speaking with James Lynch, Strickland shared his typically blunt opinion on the matter. “You know, I like Orlando, but if I knew it would go viral I would have kept on hitting him.

People are f*cking dumb, dude, and this is just the stupidity of like Tyron Woodley vs. Logan Paul. A video goes viral of me because I hit a guy after the bell that tried to crank my arm?
Have you ever been to a f*cking sparring session? Training camp I’ve knocked out like four people, I’ve broken multiple noses, I’ve dropped so many people.”
Strickland, of course, is referencing Tyron Woodley’s upcoming boxing match against YouTuber Jake Paul, not his brother Logan. Logan Paul did recently fight Floyd Mayweather, however, and Strickland acknowledged the ability of the Paul brothers to monetize their sizeable audience.
“The fact that you people care about such a small, little, insignificant concept, it just goes to show how small and tiny your brains are.
And it insults me that I’m not intelligent enough to market off you guys and make money like Logan Paul does because the stupidity of you all, it’s there for the taking.
I don’t know what I have to do to take your money besides acting like an idiot, and I’m willing to do that. That’s how I feel about that.”
Strickland will face Uriah Hall this weekend at UFC Vegas 33. Sean Strickland is riding a four-fight win streak, as is Hall, and a win for Strickland may herald the beginning of a run through the top ten.
Defeating Hall may well be exactly what Sean Strickland needs to start, as he put it, taking money from fans. Strickland bounced around the welterweight division from 2015-2020, but last year returned to middleweight to try and improve his standing in the UFC. Strickland is currently #11 in the middleweight rankings, just outside the top ten, while Hall sits at #8.
Hall, an Ultimate Fighter alumnus, is considered one of the most dangerous fighters in the division. He boasts the UFC’s only knockout win through zero strikes thrown: earlier this year, Chris Weidman snapped his own leg on Uriah Hall when Hall checked a kick.
