Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to travel across the United States together with a visit scheduled to New York, which would mark their first joint appearance since the birth of their daughter Lilibet.

Harry and Meghan have been keeping themselves away from the UK as much as possible ever since they decided to renounce their Royal duties in 2020.
While they have spoken out against the Royals, that being in their Oprah Winfrey interview on CBS, not much has been said in the way of public appearances. And yet, that could be about to change.
The couple are expected to make an appearance at Central Park in New York City. This event is part of the ‘Global Citizen Live’ initiative that will attempt to tackle the troubles that have been caused by the pandemic.
The event is set to take place on Saturday 25th. And yet, the couple’s appearance has been criticised for the following reasons. First of all, by leaving the Royal family, they accepted that they would not be having a huge influence on the world stage.
After all, they wanted a sense of normality. However, by joining this initiative, they are attempting to work with world leaders in an attempt to alleviate the impact of the pandemic.
Secondly, with so much tension still in the Royal family, the pair’s critics have accused them of using the Royal family simply for publicity.
This does look to have some weight when we consider the amount of effort that has been exerted in various campaigns, such as Meghan’s 40×40 mentoring scheme, rather than trying to patch things up with the Royals.
And this fued with the Royals is not going to go away by simply engaging with further causes. Omid Scobie, who happens to be a Royal expert, told ABC News the following: “I don’t just mean physical [distance], across the Atlantic, but they [Harry and William] are not talking that much.”
Time will tell how the couple will be received, but given the media storm they have generated in the last year, they may not be welcomed as well as they would like.
