Looks like we have an extra half hour tonight that’s commercial free and we own it mainly to AEW for antagonizing Vince McMahon, and WWE Smackdown Preview expects this episode to be a fun one because of that.
With both side going all in for tonight, there should be plenty of action and possibly even a taste of Roman Reigns and the Usos in a six man tag match.
In short, we expect the extra half hour to be the dark matches we usually miss when Reigns is in action and John Cena puts in an appearance. Will any of that happen tonight in Dark Smackdown?
We’ll have to wait and see. To help make the wait easier to bear, let’s dig into what’s been advertised for tonight as it’s Smackdown’s Go Home episode for Crown Jewel.
Brock Lesnar returns! Again
Lesnar’s going to stop by for a final promo and maybe even a stomp during Dark Smackdown to put the finishing touches on his match against Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel.
This could go several different ways, but we expect another dominant performance against the Usos when they jump him.
Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks
Bansk challenged Lynch to a singles match heading into their triple threat match at Crown Jewel with Bianca Belair and this won’t have a legitimate winner.
First, Belair will be with the announcers so she’ll distract or interfere as payback at some point. She will be instrumental in the outcome.
Second, there won’t be a clean win because that would show one to be weaker, so it’ll be a cheap shot, a distraction rollup, a DQ, or No Contest, making this match skippable.
If, and this is a huge if, Banks and Lynch are allowed to have a legitimate match, it could be the match of the night, so it’s worth checking out.
Queen’s Crown Tournament Semifinals – Carmella vs. Zelina Vega
This should be a good match if their allowed to have a decent length and not be kept under five minutes like usual. It’ll be fun to see the previous partners in crime go head to head and we’d love for Vega to win, but we think it’ll be Carmella.
King of the Ring Tournament Semifinals – Finn Balor vs. Sami Zayn
This could be the match of the night as these two have some of the best matches when they cut loose, and WWE Smackdown Preview is excited for this one.
We’d love to see Balor win as he deserves to after the debacle ending as the Demon against Reigns, but we have a feeling Zayn will find a way to get a win.
Few are as crafty as he is in a ring, and if there’s a way to pull out the victory Sami Zayn will find it.
Naomi vs. Sonya Deville
After weeks of trying to get a match, Naomi was finally granted one against her main antagonist.
This has the potential to be a good match, but we have a feeling something’s going to send this sideways. Deville may pull something where Naomi has to go through a gauntlet or she’ll back out for some reason.
Honestly, we miss seeing Deville in the ring and we’d love to see this happen. But it seems too good to be true for us and Naomi, so there’ll be a double cross.
