Last night on AEW Rampage, Chris Jericho took another big knee strike from American Top Team’s Jorge Masvidal. This led to a loss for Jericho, his second time being pinned by Scorpio Sky in AEW, but the post match beatdown was saved by Santana & Ortiz. The Inner Circle is back at full strength now – and what could this mean for the American Top Team?
Let’s Hear From The Inner Circle Of Chris Jericho, 10 Man Tag Team Match Incoming?
Two nights in a row, this Miami crowd has brought some huge energy for AEW – which is amazing to see. Santana & Ortiz have been keeping tabs on what has been going down, and finally realized they needed to step into the mix. The American Top Team would come to stir the pot – only for Jericho to call Dan Lambert a fat faced dipshit to get the crowd chanting exactly that.
Jericho had a question for Paige VanZant, who was called out for being obsessed with him and trying to slide into his DM’s. A reunited Inner Circle is ready to face American Top Team 5 on 5, and they want a ten man tag team match. Men Of The Year can choose whatever 3 they want. However, Men of The Year want gold – and they don’t have much of that.
Sammy Guevara has the TNT Championship, and therefore holds this match in his hands. Next week, Lambert will issue the challenge. Sky would remind Jericho that’s twice he’s pinned him, and Guevara wants to kick everyone’s ass next week. This situation is getting interesting, and will explode very soon.
The Lucha Bros vs. The Super Frogs?
The Lucha Bros are currently double tag team champions – being both the AEW & AAA Tag Team Champions. Tonight, they defend the AAA Championships against a handpicked mystery team which was chosen by rival Andrade El Idolo. Who did Andrade recruit to brutalize the Lucha Bros? It was Las Super Ranas. No one has heard of them, and their name translates to The Super Frogs.
This seems like a ploy given the status of this match. The body types match up with that of former AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR, and Fenix would take on Rana #1 who would rip at the mask of Fenix. Fenix would look to unmask the Rana #1, and almost got them off. This one is under AEW rules – and that means unmasking doesn’t mean a DQ.
FTR Were Just Feeling Froggy Is All
Dax & Cash were now unmasked and nailed big lariats. The crowd was mildly surprised, but The Lucha Bros kept their course. Harwood would take the fight to Fenix with chops and take some in return. A double suplex was attempted, but Fenix was thrown onto the ropes. Penta set up a huge dropkick for Fenix, getting this match back under control before a super double taint kick.
FTR was sent outside next, and Lucha Bros nailed tandem dives. Things out out of control, and Hardwood tried to get a roll up win. Instead, Fenix kicked out and kicked Harwood out. Tully Blanchard ran a distraction, and Harwood used a brainbuster to win! FTR are AAA Tag Team Champions! How will AAA respond to this huge win?
