The G1 Climax is in the books, but NJPW never rests. We have already started onto the Road to Power Struggle – and the card for the November 6th show has now been fully announced by NJPW. NJPW chairman Naoki Sugabayashi recently announced the cards will be bigger again, as COVID-19 restrictions start to loosen. This means Power Struggle will be the biggest NJPW card in months, and six matches have major stakes. Let’s see what November 6th will hold for us!

Zack Sabre Jr. & Shingo Takagi In The Main Event

The main event will follow up on Zack Sabre Jr. getting a big win over the reigning IWGP World Heavyweight Champion during the G1 Climax tournament. He now has a second match with Shingo Takagi, which could see him make up for not winning the tournament by becoming the champion and carrying the belt into Wrestle Kingdom. Shingo Takagi will do his best to ensure he doesn’t get caught this time, but ZSJ is never easy.

Another big win from the G1 would influence the card, as Tama Tonga has a right to challenge G1 Climax winner Kazuchika Okada for the right to challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom. Tama already proved he can beat The Rainmaker, but can he prove it wasn’t a fluke come Power Struggle?

But the big matches don’t stop there, as KENTA will go for gold against Hiroshi Tanahashi! Despite being in different blocks, KENTA would challenge Tanahashi to a match for the IWGP United States Championship on the final night of G1 action. Chase Owens will be watching closely however, as he has a chance to take on Tanahashi next – should KENTA fail to win.

Even More Championship Action At Power Struggle

And yet, there is still even more on this card. Robbie Eagles will defend the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship against El Desperado just ahead of Best of The Super Juniors. Toru Yano defends the KOPW 2021 trophy against Great O-Khan, with the stipulation yet to be known. House of Torture members EVIL, SHO and Yujiro Takahashi will challenge the dominant NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions – Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii and YOSHI-HASHI, looking to finally end that reign.

We even have some undercard tag team action on this show, truly making this feel like a pre-pandemic NJPW show. Master Wato, Ryusuke Taguchi and Yuji Nagata will face the LIJ team of Hiromu Takahashi, BUSHI and SANADA. Tiger Mask joins the Great Bash Heel team of Togi Makabe and Tomoaki Honma to face Jado, Gedo and Tanga Loa. Finally, Ryohei Oiwa and Kosei Fujita will face Yoshinobu Kanemaru and DOUKI in the opening match.

This is shaping up to be a fantastic night of action. What matches are you most excited for? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
