When comes to squash matches, Big Van Vader is a certified legend. This man marveled at mauling mediocre milksops. Here’s a three-pack of some of his best squashes.
Harrowing Handicap Encounter Leaves Two Missing Details at 10 (WCW Main Event 5/10/1992)
Boy, do I love beasts or monsters eating folks up in handicap matches! It’s even better when the opponents stand no chance despite having the numbers advantage!
Doug Cazee and Greg Casey had one such advantage in May 1992 but in the same way that Scott Steiner will no-sell mind-boggling math, numbers don’t matter to Big Van Vader.
He took these dudes out in under three minutes with slams, blows, and corner splash that moved the ring a bit. Fans had mostly checked out on this match—I heard that the marathon taping was a bit much for them—but a few fans in the upper rows loved the carnage.
A semi-forced chokeslam and a straight-up bedrock powerbomb end this in messy, near-snuff film fashion.
Vader Violates Mike McReynolds (WCW 7/16/1994)
I don’t know what other evil gods dwell beneath the White Castle of Fear but McReynolds was sacrificed to Big Van Vader. It’s one of those matches where you ask “Damn, what did that guy do? He really messed somehow.”
McReynolds won the match after Vader totally chucked his ass over the top rope and was disqualified. That didn’t stop the “Mastodon” from further messing him up further.

I don’t know what when through youngsters Shaun Summers and Roderick Street when they signed on for JCW BloodyMania 6.
The Insane Clown Posse tends to bring in present-day wrestling talent as well as legends for these events. These two would face two legends and former WCW World Champions in Vader and THE BIG BOOTY DADDY Scott Steiner!
This is equal parts a massacre and hard to watch. Vader and Steiner walloped and wailed on these kids for what seemed like forever. We also get some stiff chairshots to the head.
There was a sloppy back body drop where Street seems like he lands on his neck—courtesy of Scott Steiner.
Scotty would also force Shaun’s chin through his neck with a stiff belly-to-belly suplex that did not look good or clean. That was on Shaun but it was still nasty as hell.
These kids got fed to Vader and Steiner pure and simple.
