British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has spoken out in response to the news that Queen Elizabeth II is going through major struggles with her health.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson Speaks Out Following The News That Queen Elizabeth II Is In Bad Health
Following the revelations that the Queen would not be undertaking Royal engagements for at least two weeks, there have been serious concerns about how long the monarch will be able to continue going forward.
With there being so much speculation about where the Royal family should go from here, Boris sought to allay any fears about the worst happening.
In an official statement, the Prime Minister said: “I spoke to Her Majesty, as I do every week, this week, and she’s on very good form.
“She’s just got to follow the advice of her doctors and get some rest, and I think that’s the important thing.” That is not to say that the Queen will not be conducting any duties, far from it.
In fact, she will continue to undertake her virtual commitments. Having said that, though, she is going to be absent from some key celebrations. The Queen is set to miss out on the ‘Festival of Remembrance‘.
This event is designed to pay tribute to everyone who had died for the monarchy during any wars. Although her absence will be noticeable, she is determined to help out in whatever way she can.
This very news does draw light on the fact that the Queen is 95 years old. Therefore, it was only a matter of time before the time came where she had to draw back on her duties.
Robert Hardman, who happens to be the author of ‘Queen of the World’ had this to say on the matter: “She has been so dependable over the years.
There has been this tendency just to assume she will keep turning up… and when she’s not there it comes as a bit of a jolt.”
The Queen has managed to do what very few monarchs have been able to do: reign over a country for more than 50 years. Whether that will be for much longer is anyone’s guess. We will have to see how things play out.
