Right now in All Elite Wrestling, we are in the midst of the AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament. However, fans should no longer expect the match between Jon Moxley & Orange Cassidy to happen on AEW Dynamite tomorrow evening, as sometimes – real life issues are much more important. Tony Khan would provide the information and reasoning of why Jon Moxley will be taking some time off.
Jon Moxley Is Seeking Help With Alcohol Related Issues, Tony Khan Reveals
Taking to Twitter with the blessing of Jon Moxley, Tony Khan would share the following news.
“Jon Moxley has allowed me to share with you that he is entering an inpatient alcohol treatment program. Jon is a beloved member of the AEW family. We all stand with him and Renee, and all of his family and friends, as he shifts his focus to recovery.”
Khan would go on to say the following, before offering a helpline number for any fans who might be fighting a similar battle.
“Jon is making a very brave choice to get help, and we’re embracing his choice and supporting him however we can. I’m proud to call Jon a friend, and like many of you, I’m also a fan of Mox and look forward to a time in the future when he is eventually ready to return to the ring. Until then, thank you for supporting Jon and respecting his privacy at this time.”
This doesn’t come as a shock to those who read his recently released book, titled Mox. Moxley has a history of substance related issues, and has really never hid that part of his life. His struggle is one that many will face in their lives, and much respect for him to get help, especially with a young child in his life.
What Could Happen In Regards To His Tournament Match?
While real life is what is truly important, this does have fans asking what will happen in regards to the tournament. The easy option is that either Eddie Kingston gets a second chance against Orange Cassidy tomorrow evening on Dynamite. Kingston is disputing his loss to Bryan via referee stoppage, and Khan might just want to shut him up.
Another option would come in simply pushing forward with a finals of Bryan Danielson & Orange Cassidy at Full Gear. What do you think AEW will do with Moxley out ahead of a major match? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
