A Tiktok video has gone viral after a student claimed that her professor was giving female students more homework than the male ones.

If such an allegation were to be true, then it does raise serious concerns over the behaviour of the professor. After all, what rational reason could there be for doing such a thing?
Chelsea Vaughan, who happens to be a student at Rowan College at Burlington County in New Jersey, had a lot to say on the matter. In the video here, we can see that Chelsea was not pleased.
The post was captioned by the following comments: “When your professor assigns boys and girls a different article but the girls article is almost 50 pages longer.”
The video generated over 2 million views, and with that, many people wanted to have their say. The response on social media, though, was one of irony and ridicule.
Many followers simply chose to see the funny side of it, rather than addressing the potential claim that this could be viewed as sexism.
One user wrote: “Women can have it all if ‘it all’ = 50 extra pages,” while another stated: “Me, an NB [nonbinary], ‘hey what article do I get.” Nevertheless, Chelsea was not left feeling impressed.
She felt that the female students were not only being given extra work, but when they had actually put in the effort to do it, this was not being appreciated. This was on the grounds that the work the females had done was not being reviewed in class.
In an interview with the Daily Dot, Chelsea said: “I went into class on Wednesday morning with that mindset, but she explicitly said that she wouldn’t be making us read both articles.
“[This] literally gave the women in the classwork for absolutely no reason.” In response, the school authorities have vowed to look into the matter.
As of now, the Principal has not yet decided what the next course of action should be, but if they do find that an offence has been committed, then it will be dealt with. We will have to see how things will play out.
