A Tiktok video has gone viral after it alleged that one user was attempting to abuse women in the hope of recruiting them into a cult.
Tiktok Video Goes Viral As User Accused Of Branding Women Into Her ‘Big Beautiful Women’ Cult
The cult, which is reportedly said to be called ‘Big Beautiful Women’ (BBW), came to the fore when Angela Vandusen was accused of setting it up.
Accordingly, TikToker @kingjeanty1989 uploaded a video which had apparently showed @AngelaTheeG0ddess, trying to recruit women by making them brand their bodies as part of a cult initiation.
This begs the question, why would Angela do such a thing? As of now, it is not clear what the motivations may have been. But other scandals of a similar nature show that it is often about power and control.
Take, for example, Keith Raniere and the NXIVM scandal. The former was convicted for setting up a cult that operated under the guise of a women’s self-help group. Much in the same way, his victims were apparently branded with his initials.
This control of victims can be seen by the following. A TikToker, that goes by the name of Kevonchae, spoke on her one-time romantic relationship with Angela, that ended up getting abusive.
In an official statement, Kevonchae spoke on how things started off well. She said: “We were talking [and] getting to know each other like normal people would.
“She was nice, always complimented me, she called me throughout the day, sometimes staying on the phone for hours at a time.”
Having said that, though, things started to change rather quickly. It is possible that Kevonchae may have been getting groomed if her former comments were anything to go by, as it would have allowed Angela to lull her into a false sense of security.
She added: “She would curse me out if her video on TikTok didn’t go viral—as if I had a choice in the matter. She became verbally abusive, saying mean and hateful things.
“She then started asking me to do things to myself I’ve never done before.” This story shows how dangerous social media can be, as people can unwittingly become involved in organisations that do not have their interests at heart.
