Fans had been eager to see where Braun Strowman would land following his shocking release from WWE. Here was a former WWE Universal Champion, who’s final match in WWE was for the WWE Championship. However, despite meetings with top brass in companies like Impact Wrestling – Strowman has kept a low profile.
Now working as Adam Scheer, he’s not wrestled many matches on the indies. One cinematic fight with EC3 started things off promisingly, but since then he’s only planning on working one more date in 2021. This is Blizzard Brawl, right in Waukesha, Wisconsin – where he calls home. Ahead of this event, he’s made a massive donation to a great cause.
Adam Scheer Is Giving Back To The Town He Now Calls Home
Recently, tragedy struck the town of Waukesha. During a Christmas parade on November 21nd – 39 year old Darrell E. Brooks would drive an SUV into the parade. This led to 6 deaths and 62 others being injured. He has since been arrested and charged with six counts of first-degree intentional homicide.
It takes a lot for a community to heal from something like this. Millions of dollars have been raised for the families involved, to help cover funeral and healthcare costs. Scheer is adding to this, planning to donate at least 10,000$ to the cause. This money comes from fans however, who got autographs and photo-ops with Scheer at the event.
Putting Smiles On Faces Is All Part Of The Job
It’s unclear if he plans to match the amount raised by fans, but he is keen on giving back in any way possible. He would state the following while speaking with Lance Allan of TMJ4.
“Wisconsin is going to be my forever home. When I come here, people treat me like Adam. It’s an opportunity to shine some positive light in a negative situation. I think it’s really awesome seeing this community come together and work as a whole for positive in such a bad time, leading up into the holidays. Being able to do some good, bringing some cheer and hopefully putting some smiles back on people’s faces that unfortunately had them taken away from them.”
Right now, it seems likely that Scheer could be otherwise done with the grander world of professional wrestling. He’s settled down in Wisconsin and is supporting the community. Fans in the area will likely see him all over shows like Blizzard Brawl – but that might be the future he wants in wrestling.
