Former Bachelorette lead Katie Thurston hit back at the critics, who have emerged in response to her new relationship with John Hersey.

The primary reason why people are sceptical about this romance is that Katie had barely just broken up with her ex-fiance Blake Moynes before she hooked up with John. Katie and Blake had only been engaged for around three months before the split.
But rather than take some time out to heal from this properly, Katie ended up moving on very fast, which raised rumours over whether or not she and John had been together during the latter stages of Katie’s relationship with Blake.
Although that was something denied by John, it has not stopped the criticism from abating. But that did not stop Katie from doubling down on her beliefs.
In a post to her fans on Instagram, Katie shared a picture of herself and John holding each other. In the background, we can see that they are at an ice skating park in what looks to be the run-up to the Christmas festivities.
The post was captioned with the following comments: “Life is short. Do what makes you happy.” The response on social media was not very kind towards Katie.
A significant proportion of people expressed their disapproval, given how she had behaved with Blake. And through her actions, people began to question how long she would last with John given her prior track record.
One person wrote: “Genuine question? Does that mean when you are bored of him you will get another because ‘happiness?'” Katie did not take those comments lightly.
And she responded by letting the world know that she knows what she is doing when it comes to her love life. In reply, she remarked: “Being ‘bored’ and being ‘unhappy’ are very different.
“If something doesn’t bring joy into my life (friendships, relationships, a job, etc.) — yes, I’m going to remove that from my life.”
It is too early to comment on whether this relationship will last. But in the meantime, there is no harm in giving Katie and John the benefit of the doubt.
